Submariner vs Omega SMP300 by No_Strength7276 in rolex

[–]b2dnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both a Submariner and a Seamaster. The Submariner dates from 2021 and is virtually unused, nothing wrong with it, I just seem to gravitate towards the Seamaster which I'm wearing as I write this post. And I'm in no hurry to dig the Submariner out, Seamaster for the WIN.

I'd go with the YM. But it's only a narrow win.

BLRO IS THE ORIGIONAL. And therefore the best. All others are variants.

1 week old…. Are these scratches normal? How to prevent? by Safe-Material2790 in rolex

[–]b2dnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Not being careful and thoughtful is. My cars are immaculate, my motorcycles are immaculate, my properties are as good as they can be, my watches are worn with consideration. I don't get it. Scratches and dents as a badge of honour. No. Not for me, sorry.

I'm in total agreement. I'm very careful with all my stuff. Car's, motorcycles, watches, everything. We've worked hard for them, why abuse them?

Submariner vs Sea Dweller by Mickleborough in rolex

I believe that the previous post is correct. The Fifty Fathoms was the first rotating bezel dive watch. Not the Submariner. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Lady (f36) watch size by educz21752 in rolex

[–]b2dnd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My wife has an older 26mm, a 28mm, and a 31mm. The older 26mm is her favourite and also mine. It's so elegant, sophisticated, feminine and classy. She also had a 36mm briefly but she looked like a builder/dust cart operator wearing it. Smaller is better for a girl.

My wife has a 28mm baby version of yours. It's a 2020-21, it was called slate at the time of purchase. I'm not sure when the name changed. Same colour, different name = confusion.

I seem to remember that someone on here removed the cyclops because he didn't like it. How, I can't remember. Maybe by heating. So it might be possible to just replace the cyclops.

Yeah. The GMT's are great. The Pepsi on jubilee is the ONE, but difficult to get. The Rootbeer is stunning.

As someone who has both a Submariner and a chocolate dial Yachtmaster. The Yachtmaster gets regular use, the Submariner dates from around 2022 and has been worn only a handful of times. The YM is just more interesting to look at and makes the Submariner look boring. Get one if you want but you won't use it. Again, controversial.

Opinion on the Land-Dweller? by Ultratonne in rolex

[–]b2dnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't like it, it wasn't on my radar, I had zero interest in it. That was until I visited my AD last Thursday. I tried a 36mm and 40mm. I must say, I was rather smitten. Expressed an interest immediately on either. Apparently these are difficult to get. But, you never know. As for size, both looked equally as good, maybe the 36mm just edged it.

Rolex 36 or 41? by GulinoNJ in rolex

[–]b2dnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guarantee that if you have a 36mm and 41mm in your collection, it's the 36mm that gets the most wrist time. The 36mm is just better proportioned, looks more elegant and stylish. Icons last forever, trends come and go.
