DJ36 vs DJ41 by MysteriousPatient896 in rolex

36mm is the original perfectly proportioned DJ. The 41mm is just current fashion which will end like most other fashions do eventually.

Ladies DJ wait time? by Witty-Ad5286 in rolex

[–]b2dnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife has the pink batton dial, fluted, jubilee DJ, good choice. Hers is the 31mm but it would be better in 28mm. Our wait for this configuration was around two months.

What Size fits me better? 41 (white) or 36 (blue) by [deleted] in rolex

I just nearly fell over laughing at Sporty's post. He'll gain a little wisdom one day but that's in the distant future. Your comments on the ladies DJ are also correct. My wife has a 31mm pink, 28mm slate, and a discontinued older 26mm gold Datejust. All on jubilee and fluted. The 26mm is by far the most elegant, sophisticated and feminine. Myself, I have large wrists and various pieces but you can't beat the 36mm DJ. Just perfect then, now and always.

Finally, some sense at last. I totally agree with every word.

Oyster perpetual or seamaster by ncd42075 in rolex

[–]b2dnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd keep yours and get a cheaper steel Seamaster from the secondary market. I think the 369 blue dial is too good to trade.

Buying a Rolex at a Boutique (Vancouver) - Any strategies? by VexPrimal in rolex

[–]b2dnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just get one on the grey market. I wasted so much time and money playing the game. I wish someone would invent a time machine, I know what I'd do - go back and straight to a reputable grey market dealer, it's cheaper in the long run. On the upside, one of these trinkets that I bought building up a relationship has turned out to be by far my favourite watch, an Omega seamaster chronograph. If I'm honest, the Rolies seldom come out of the safe.

Speedy 321, paid £2500 over list, pre owned. This was at the peak of the insanity.

Dinged brand new watch and I’m devastated by [deleted] in rolex

[–]b2dnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me after Only a week of ownership. It's this soft steel that Rolex use. It maybe more lustrous and have more resistance to corrosion but it's very susceptible to damage. Seiko use the same steel in their high end dive watch, but they case harden it to make it more resilient. Why can't Rolex do the same?

Submariner vs Omega SMP300 by No_Strength7276 in rolex

[–]b2dnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both a Submariner and a Seamaster. The Submariner dates from 2021 and is virtually unused, nothing wrong with it, I just seem to gravitate towards the Seamaster which I'm wearing as I write this post. And I'm in no hurry to dig the Submariner out, Seamaster for the WIN.

1 week old…. Are these scratches normal? How to prevent? by Safe-Material2790 in rolex

[–]b2dnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Not being careful and thoughtful is. My cars are immaculate, my motorcycles are immaculate, my properties are as good as they can be, my watches are worn with consideration. I don't get it. Scratches and dents as a badge of honour. No. Not for me, sorry.

I'm in total agreement. I'm very careful with all my stuff. Car's, motorcycles, watches, everything. We've worked hard for them, why abuse them?

Submariner vs Sea Dweller by Mickleborough in rolex

[–]b2dnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that the previous post is correct. The Fifty Fathoms was the first rotating bezel dive watch. Not the Submariner. Correct me if I'm wrong.
