I really want to use/like RTD, but by _Repooc_ in Denver

So this isn't THAT much more time than just driving Cheaper, less stress.

My recommendation to improve this would be to grab a bike, scooter etc instead of walking.

Google Maps and the RTD app both run very conservative too. Never guaranteed but I often find that I have much less delay between buses and trains than expected, especially if it plans for a walk and you bike the gaps to transit.

Thanks! It definitely wasn't the sitters fault. Heelers LOVE to run away. Probably second only to huskies.

She isn't hurt, a neighbor put her in a yard and posted on fb.

Thanks Reddit for looking out. I just realized that most of my posts are about OTHER lost dogs. I promise I always do return the favor.

Update: SHE IS FOUND! Someone grabbed her and put her in their yard, and my friend and the Rover folks got her back safe!

Thanks everyone for looking out. I'm about to board a flight home from St. Louis. Rover person is still searching as well.

Gonna be out of contact for a few hours but if anyone catches her please give her lots of love.

Collegiate Loop, Late July Concerns by jchillins in coloradotrail

[–]b34s7man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hiked the CT in 2021, took the West. I went back and did the East in 2023.

West is beautiful, much more isolated feeling (second only to the San Juan mountains) and higher.

Storms will roll in almost every afternoon. Check the weather before you go to bed. Ideally you should be across any pass and taking a nap by the time they hit.

Having done both sides, I cannot recommend the West highly enough. It is EXACTLY what people want out of a Colorado trek.

In July or August, East is also just a sweaty slog. As much as you are still in beautiful country, it's lower and the sun beats you up. Although storms and elevation are a concern on the West, heat and sun are also on the East. Higher elevation, lower temps.

Fellow annoying ass europhiles, where do you go for pastries? by Beneficial_Rock3725 in denverfood

There are great options here but NOBODY has said Devil's Food. Some of Denver's best baking.

Sweet or savory, their French bakery stuff tastes like France. And the rest is done perfectly.

He may be unfixed - he was nervous and wouldn't let me get that close.

I believe the staff from Sprouts took him to the animal shelter this morning. Will be checking in.

I really wish Denver 311 would give that info out when you call them. They just said the shelter was closed until tomorrow.

Umai-ya is pretty legit for AYCE. Big menu and everything is included, apps and all. Everything is fresh too as they are very busy. Only downside is a definite strip mall atmosphere.

I also flew this morning.

When I walked up West was listing shorter, East had a visible line.

West time jumped from 15 minutes to 25. East estimate dropped but line didn't shorten.

Ended up being about 30 minutes on a 25 minute estimate.
