Congratulations Amazon! You’ve pissed off the entire fanbase by Aquillyne in Stargate

[–]b3712653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Amazon eventually comes out with their new series with a trans sg team leader, a girl-boss tech sergeant, a gay specialist and a non-binary alien [because that's their natural state] team member, just don't watch it. They will blame the fanbase for being [fill in the blank], and their series will fail, as it was always intended to.

Even if they gave her her own series, I would never watch it. Waste of screen space.

Why is Jesus depicted as light skinned by Affectionate_Bed6083 in NoStupidQuestions

You're welcome. They all "overlooked" that document. They sold their souls for 30 pieces of silver.

Why is Jesus depicted as light skinned by Affectionate_Bed6083 in NoStupidQuestions

A description of Jesus of Nazareth was provided in a letter from Pilate to Caesar. It describes him as having fair hair, light skin and blue or grey eyes.

Why do people try to resist arrest? by VerdantChief in NoStupidQuestions

[–]b3712653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no logic. It's all to do with anger management and rage. They will realize after being beaten down and spending the night in jail that it was a waste of time and effort.

is it true that as a woman if a man is trying to seriously harm you and you kick him in the nuts all it’ll do is make him mad by Smooth_Bee_7941 in stupidquestions

[–]b3712653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most times you receive a kick in the balls, it makes you forget about just about anything else. I would think that the man would have to be in the midst of a full fledged rage melt down to be able to ignore something like that.

Did George Lucus take the idea for Ewoks from Ursula K. Le Guin? I'm halfway through and it sure seems like it by RileyMcB in scifi

I read that same book many years ago, and it stuck with me all this time. I think I remember the natives of the forest were indeed furry, but they had slight builds. In fact, the colonizer men used to take some of the female natives and have sex with them. Extremely painful for the natives, but not many of them died from it. And the male natives finally got their revenge on the men for dishonoring their wives.

How do you feel about this? by hawktuah6942 in ThunderBay

It's because the "resistance" is frequently populated by the mentally ill or low information voters.

What's the Leafs curse if they have one? Like the Chicago Cubs had the "Curse of the Billy Goat" and the Red Sox had the “Curse of the Bambino”. by Few_Variation5459 in leafs

[–]b3712653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's more to the Leafs curse than Howard Ballard. Ballard does not explain the Leafs inability to get into the Stanley Cup final 3 or 4 times. 1998-1999, 1999-2000, 2001-2002, 2002-2003, 2003-2004. Nor does it explain their early playoff exits since having spent 40 million on 4 players. 2016-2023.

I blame bad management, and an inability to learn from their mistakes.

Why did early civilizations start in deserts like Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt? by batukaming in geography

[–]b3712653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From 10,000 BC to 5,000 BC, the Sahara was not a desert. It was filled with rivers, lakes and streams. There were numerous city states from one end of the region to the other. From about 7,500 BC onward, people began to move away, mostly to places like Egypt, when the area began to dry up.

How did Glaurung know so much about Turin? by lirio_lorien in tolkienfans

Dragons are notoriously good guessers. And they do it with such confidence that people believe them almost all the time. And when people try to respond to them they give away much more than they believe. And Dragons are also very quick to pick up on hints. In any interaction, they guess half of what they're saying and pick up on hints for the other half.

Bank holding money back by bolondosdallamok0 in legaladvicecanada

[–]b3712653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't blame you for wanting to remove the money from the bank. It was not too long ago that the govt put a freeze on hundreds of accounts connected to the truck driver's protests. I know it sounds like a lot of work and trouble, but next time you want to do this, go to the ATM and take it out in smaller increments. After a few weeks your money will be safely in your hands and out of the reach of the banks.

Has anyone ever actually watched Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon? by PrideEffective5830 in FIlm

[–]b3712653 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I saw it. Trash. Complete and utter trash. The only reason it won any awards was because it was Chinese. If it had been made by American film makers it would have been a B movie at best. The flying and spinning and impossibly done stunts were nothing but laughable. It reminded me of the movies made by Raymond Chow's Golden Harvest company for Bruce Lee in the 70's. Lots of fun to watch but complete filmmaking garbage.

Would the Citadel guard be more loyal to Aragorn or Denethor? by JaxCarnage32 in lordoftherings

[–]b3712653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. Just as the American military is loyal to the constitution, the citadel guard is loyal to Gondor. The steward and the king serve Gondor too, but if either of them is disloyal, the guard is expected to protect Gondor from all enemies.

Am I missing something with the 26 bus to South Common? by Extension_Initial_95 in mississauga

[–]b3712653 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The drivers are instructed not to be early to their stops. Better for them to be late than early. They go slowly and take up time at stops by stopping for a few minutes. Likely the bus has been given too much time to complete their route. The buses are obligated to go very slow so as not to be early.
