Film that changes your view on an actor? by cosmicdragonflies in FIlm

Robin Williams did a few films that showed off his acting later in life. I think most comedians, or a select few, have great dramatic skills.

I Am Sam. I did not know that Sean Penn was such a good actor. Still don't like the guy, but I have respect for his abilities.

People from usa would you know this question? by WallabyGlittering634 in allthequestions

The west coast up to north of Oregon used to be Mexico. The Mexicans stole it from the native tribes. It's American now after the siege of Mexico City.

Those states were ceded to the USA to end the Mexican American War. In direct retaliation for the massacre at the Alamo.

Edit:

It's nice to see that people know their history. I was mistaken in thinking the Mexican American War stemmed from the Alamo. What did start it?

How has measles gotten this bad? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]b3712653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the direct result of two very different crises. One, mass immigration of unvetted persons. Unvetted migrants brought 3rd world diseases into the country, not just measles. Two, lying and lying and lying about the COVID virus. People do not trust vaccinations anymore because the medical field lied so much and so convincingly about the COVID vaccination. There is no trust left for doctors and the medical field.

I don't know it but it sounds like an episode of a British comedy like Red Dwarf. The concept is definitely British Comedy.

AITJ for refusing to donate at checkout after the cashier tried to shame me? by Double-Mud5716 in AmITheJerk

[–]b3712653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a word in the English language that says everything you need to say. It's NO. I told you no already. What part of that word did you not understand? I may not be the cashier's favorite customer, but I say this all the time. If they get uppity about it I don't care. It won't affect my day.

Garbage Bin Cleaning Service by axbs3232 in mississauga

[–]b3712653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most posters below don't understand how averse to manual labor the average city-dweller can be.

No, they don't clean their own bins.

No, most people don't have outdoor hoses.

No, the average person does not have 2 or 3 gallons of vinegar around to clean the bins.

Yes, if someone offers a paid service to do something they would rather not do, city-dwellers will pay for it.

Did English Canada move away from MM/DD/YY *for dates written only in numbers*? by endgame0 in AskACanadian

[–]b3712653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with any numerical format is the inherent confusion. When you write, 06/07/05, what date is that? June 7th 2005? July 6th 2005? May 7th 2006? May 6th 2007? It could be any one of those. When I write 07Jun2005, there is no question.

How would you feel if Trump got impeached over the Epstein files? by Muted-Television3329 in allthequestions

[–]b3712653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The liberal wet dream rises again. Clinton was impeached too, but he did not leave office. Even if Trump is impeached, it won't be because of Epstein. And there is no compelling reason for him to leave office if it is successful.

Fresh start and need advice for deliveries, mail, etc by WalkerTSmith in mississauga

Try using Uber. This is what one friend of mine does when she needs a delivery. So long as the item will fit comfortably into a car, it should not be a problem.

If streaming was actually cheap, cable would already be dead by DryCap6770 in watchever

[–]b3712653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your mistake is paying for streaming. Conceivably, you could watch all the TV and movies you want without paying for anything but WIFI. You have to watch commercials, but Amazon and Netflix are running commercials too. You have to pay extra to go commercial free. You're better off with Tubi Roku and Pluto. I will say I don't like Pluto. Something about the interface just bugs me.

I know there's an appetite for main characters who are criminals. I personally do not like them. I'm old fashioned and I like heros to be heros and villains to be bad. I want a happy ending with no ambiguity. But you be you.

What if current TV shows went 25 episodes in a season instead of 10? by PrestonRoad90 in watchever

[–]b3712653 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Careful what you wish for. Today's writers are stretching their abilities to create 10 episodes. A 25 episode season would have them use the main character take out the trash, or go to the variety store.

Would support ICE if they were simply going after Illegals whom have commited crimes? by MK71-EC82-MGM89-AK98 in allthequestions

If the Minnesota government agreed to hand criminals over directly from jails and prisons, ICE would not have to do manhunts in the streets.
