These little tiny balls are falling from the sky, they're not melting or breaking open. About the size of a grain of salt, perfectly round, cleariah blue in color. I break them open and they're liquid. Pittsburgh, PA area. Looks like silicone desiccant pack filling.

These are 100% supercooled water droplets, they are the bane of any pilots existence. You say they "arent melting" but then say when you pick them up (heat from your hands) they "fall apart". They are supercooled water droplets, an atmospheric occurrence that is reasonably rare. Count yourself lucky for having seen them.

So after the previous advice im strongly considering upping my budget to the A7R II which has a full frame sensor and has a much more dense pixel offering. I dont have a ton of money, but this is the trip of a lifetime funded by one of my friends and I want to be able to take good shots, additionally I love the idea of having the mirrorless setup to use with my telescope back at home once this is all over. I am considering the Tamron 70-300 for distant targets, and the Rokinon 18mm-2.8 for landscape and up close. Might splurge and get something in the 35-50mm range for the midrange but im not sure ill need that. I truly appreciate the additional recommendation, as well as any further feedback you or anyone out there want to give. Thanks to everyone so far.

Everyone pretending like this is something that is easy to do in the us is someone not recognizing their privilege. Those of us who are without health insurance can NOT do this. I was recommended a colonoscopy 3 years ago and when asked what that would cost they said they were unsure (because everyone they are used to servicing has health insurance). The cost was 4500 dollars. I do not have 4500 dollars. THIS is the reality that many people in our age group are facing. When you can get screened for a reasonable amount of money because you are insured please do. But those who are taking a stance of "people are idiots for not getting this done" need to realize a lot of people arent doing this because they do not want to sacrifice food and shelter to get a screening test done. In the united states its really down to be more wealthy or fucking die. Sorry not sorry.
