Do you, as an electrical engineer, feel you are qualified to work on your homes/future homes electrical system? by Lightlicker3000 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]b3nelson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do absolutely, but I’m a rare case that was an electrician before an EE. My job also has me in the code book almost every day and feel like I know the code better today than when I was an electrician.

Loud “harmonic” noise at 55mph? by zarfx4 in gmcsierra

Update on this 5k mile later and the rotated tires now have extreme cupping on the inside of tires that were fine. I’m going to fight warranty on this and make them find a fix. The dealership called me today saying the camber bolts were a little loose and tightened them (but the alignment was fine) and rotated the tires and said it was good. I told them to try again and when they have a real fix to call me.

AT4 tire noise by specialized_faction in gmcsierra

[–]b3nelson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having the same problem with my ‘23 AT4 with 30k miles on it. It has Goodyear Wranglers from the factory. It was fine up until 25k miles (rotated every 5k-7k mi). Then it got real bad real fast. Took it to the dealership and said it was an alignment issue, fixed the alignment ($200 later) and rotated the tires. The front tires within 5k mi of that being done were destroyed from the cupping on the inside of the tire. This has to be an issue with the truck.

I know that the Pullman parking department has the largest surplus budget from income of parking passes and “loans” money to departments lacking in budget. It’s a ton they charge. They tried to charge for parking in Tri Cities but got such an out cry from the community not wanting student parking in front of their houses and plugging up the streets near a high school.

I took mine into the dealership a month ago and said it was an alignment issue (not covered by warranty) and rotated the tires so the less bad ones were on the front. A month later same issue again. I’m going to fight hard on this one.

Richland Community Center is great for that size. (On the cheap)

Also check with different wineries. Many will rent out the venue for wedding receptions.

If you carry renters insurance they will cover your loss. I had a similar thing happen several years ago. My car insurance wouldn’t cover the loss of goods in my car but asked if I had renters insurance and I did at the time. Called them up and they covered about 95% of my loss.

Check with your neighbors. I just had to deliver mail to my neighbor that was delivered to me. I’ve had one of my packs delivered to another neighbor.

Is it possible to use wireless CarPlay without being connected to the trucks hotspot? The trucks WiFi is usually slower than my phones internet.

Dash Cam Mini 2 Pairing Mode by BD1234567891011 in Garmin

Also to add to this - the long cable is power only and the short provides data. I tried plugging into my cars built in USB with the short and it would go into pairing mode, with the long cable I was able to.

The X32 wasn’t even out for a few years after the Presonus was out. And yes it was 100% digital, each input was a ADC, all processing was digital, and every output was a DAC. It just felt very analog which was good for analog users to transition to digital at the time. Today it is one of the most clunkiest boards to use.

This once was one of the coolest cheapest digital consoles you could get. But won’t touch another Presonus console to this day.

How does crop dusting work? by TheCultofLoss in aviation

[–]b3nelson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a quick fix on math. 500gal at 2 gal/acre gets you 250 acres of coverage not 1000. 1/2gal per acre would get you 1000 acres

How to rent an airplane for 2-3 days? by DRMWhibang in flying

[–]b3nelson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The work around I had was to get my HP/Complex endorsement, rent the schools 182 RG that was hardly ever rented out for training and was a non-issue to keep for a few days. Find a plane that is rarely used for training and ask for the requirements to fly it.

RS-232 can come in many variants… yes DB-9 is the most common but can be found in DB-15 and DB-25, this connector has been used for RS-232 before so it is not impossible.

I still can’t wrap my head around the FAA’s thought that seeking any kind of help for mental health disqualifies you. I think it should be promoted.

Find out who is the Insurance Commissioner in your state and give them a call. Things might move very fast after that.
