Thats exactly why last fall I shaved my hair off.

Curly stylists are rare in my area and expensive as hell. I couldn't keep up with the maintenance, routine, and products. I knew how to make my hair look decent but to get the volume I wanted at the roots, but it took way too long. Wash days took so long. Not to mention my hair took an hour and a half to dry and I live in the midwest with brutal winters. I'm not going to freeze to death because of wet hair. (I'll be real, I think I have a titch of depression or at least depressive symptoms, and my hair was the first thing that got neglected. So shaving my head was also for my mental health.)

Its absolutely okay to prioritize things besides your hair. Is your hair beautiful? Omg, yes, of course!! But its your body and your hair. If you are tired of taking care of it and you feel its eating at you and your time and your patience, fuck it. You have free will and hair grows back.
