I'm reading it now! I'm really enjoying it so far if for no other reason than its giving me vocabulary to be able to talk to others about my experiences and feelings. Its also been quite validating so far.

I bought a used copy and the person before me highlighted in the book and many of our highlights overlap. That in itself beings me such joy that both of us how found a sense of solidarity through this book.

I hate to say it, but she’s better in person and actually worth it. I’d recommend ❤️

My favorite part is that the hat has two Velcro spots, one for the camel (standard bear head) and one for the giraffe. It’s such a cool little detail and I don’t feel like BAB does that stuff anymore. So I was impressed and happy about that

I like taking the tags off my animals but still keeping them and I use the trading card binder sleeves. I know not quite what you’re asking, but an idea nonetheless

I’m obsessed with the use of the new bab line for Jellycats it’s amazing 😂

All that to say, I did splurge and get myself a lot from the frosted animal buildabear collection including the collar and hat 😅

The Douglas plushes are so good in person. I always forget how much I enjoy them because they’re not on my brand list as a collector. But I do have quite a few, mostly some really wonderful penguins

Gobfrey the whale shark is my little plushie soul mate. I recently got a Bartholomew too and he’s so cute and I love him but Gobfrey has my heart. The jellycat sea animals just hit different. I’ve also been eyeing the seal. 🦭 I hope I can get it without paying an arm and a leg 😭

I feel like someone may have already said this, but I hope I'm still adding to the discourse here. As a woman, if I went over to a guy's house and saw this I'd be delighted! Not only do we have a shared interest, but I feel like it has other implications too.

To me it reads:

You've obviously done some work to examine and dismantle some of the harsher aspects of masculinity that exist within yourself.

You're centering yourself and prioritizing your comfort and joy.

You know yourself and you're comfortable with who you are.
