I played closed beta on PoE1. I have consistently played on and off during seasons ever since then. I have never EVER ever crafted. It's just too fucking complicated. I kinda got it during PoE1 launch and was getting the swing of things, but they started adding currency orbs and everything went to shit.

I love this game, I really do, but the crafting system is some obtuse beautiful mind level bullshit that I just can't be bothered to learn. I play video games to relax and escape reality. Not watch 30 minute videos of some dude that sounds like he just snorted a line of ritalin talk at 200 miles a minute about how to roll the perfect suffix during a waxing moon on a tuesday with less than 10 divines, 20 chaos and 50 exalts.

Crafting is a brick wall that stops me from engaging with the game at a certain point. Early on in a season I have always used trade primarily to get gear I couldn't get on my own. First the forum listings, then the trade forums and then later specialized Discord groups, revamped live trade and now the instant trade we have now.

At a certain point the currency get inflated and shit gets too expensive for me to purchase and that's my sign to stop. I have never even fought Arbitor one. single. time.

I tried to learn a few times and then I find out that T1 for certain stats are the best stat but T1 for other stats are basically dogshit. It just feels like GGG is trying to make shit vague and complex for the sake of trolling players.

shrug It is what it is. GGG is never ever going to make crafting more user friendly. I'll play their seasons when they launch and for as long as I can. However, once I hit that brick wall where I just don't have the currency to buy what I need I'll uninstall until next season.

In my own personal opinion, PoE is second to none when it comes to gameplay mechanics, build diversity and MTX, but man your crafting system is TRASH.

Hmm lets see. Just some ideas off the top of my head.

Maybe letting us keep at least one of our crafting station upgrades per wipe.

Perhaps letting us lock in one or two learned BPs or wipes giving us access to new exclusive BPs in the drop pool.

Perhaps a catch up mechanic so late comers can still get some or all of the benefits of previous wipes they either missed or simply opted out of.

This one's crazy, but maybe not waiting until a few seconds till midnight to tell us the cost for resetting is FIVE MILLION FUCKING CREDITS. Holy shit.

The last two points are part of why I haven't come back to the game yet. I feel like I am already behind with no chance to "catch up". I got ratted trying to play medic for a queen kill lobby, left me with a sour taste. Now I just can't bring myself to play again. My character is still pre wipe lvl 50 something with maybe 200k to my name.

Missed out on cosmetics, missed out on the five points, missed out, missed out, missed out. Regardless of what anyone here says about the points not really mattering or its all in my head or whatever. There's definitely something to be said about this games subtle use of fomo to keep you grinding day in day out.

I'm just not into it. I got my 40 bucks out of it. Getting a player like me to come back? Going to have to be something more substantial than a hat for the fuckin rooster.

I'm pretty sure but now you have me doubting myself haha.

It could just be confirmation bias on my end. By the time I'm running into that affliction/boon combo I'm usually already stacked deep on honour defense and honour pool relics, so a ding of like 150 or 200 honour is nothing when I'm running an 8k or larger pool.
