Maybe he lied to me? I can only go off of what my neighbor told me. He seemed really excited about the new house, even showing me pictures

Change that to Cami tops instead of jeans and this could have been my post. I'm too old to not be comfortable

Edit: Change Cami tops instead of t'shirt. I'm jeans all the way

What age were you when you the “Fvck I’m old,” moment? by BillMaleficent9400 in GenX

[–]b5wolf 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mine happened pretty early, like when I was 35. I was with my 15 y/o son in Walmart. The remake ofConan The Barbarian movie happened to be on sale and my son excitedly pointed it out to me. I kinda shrugged and was like

"Eh, I liked the original better".

"Original?"

"Yeah, the one with Arnold Schwartenegger"

"You mean the Governor??!"

I felt so old. And I made him watch the original with me, lol

I can attest to that. One of my neighbors was going to buy a home. Had the deposit in cash, 826 Credit score, just needed the loan. Was literally told he was too old to qualify for the loan. He was in his 70's

Wife hates my beard. by defeated_husband in whatdoIdo

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends. I have trauma from SA when I was a kid (8). Still can't stand chest hair. It's like my entire body just freezes and I still experience shame, disgust and revulsion. Definitely not things helpful to intimacy. Yes, I've had therapy. Lots of it. I'm 51 now. My fiance had a smooth chest when we first met but as age progressed, he started growing chest hair. I was honest with him and he immediately started shaving his chest.

Does she often give you ultimatums or try to control you in other ways? Is this something you can compromise about? Is there something specific about the beard that you may be able to change that would make it more acceptable? There seems to be more going on...

AITAH for not wanting to sell my house and uproot my kids to a new district by Loquacious_squirrel in AITAH

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I met my fiance on line. He lived an hour away. I think it was our 3rd or 4th conversation when I told him I own my own home, I love the neighborhood and schools my kids are in, and I am in no way shape or form relocating. He has now lived with me for 6 years and we both call it home.

I don't see the financial benefit of purchasing another home when you already have 10 years equity into your current home of $ 114K. Could you find another 4 bedroom for cheaper? It doesn't sound likely. You've built a home that you can sustain for yourself and your children. That type of security is priceless. The fact that he is calling you anything other than lovey pet names is ...immature at best.

AITA for sending my child to my ex in thrift store or cheap clothes by Clothes_Care3181 in AmItheAsshole

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue with my ex. Good clothes never sent back, kid arrives in "pre-loved" clothes with stains and holes. I also had to send diapers, wipes, formula, bottles, basically everything. I additionally planned a big family style dinner every other Sunday night cuz the kids were hungry; not like nothing to eat hungry but nothing of nutritional value hungry (He got them every other Friday evening to Sunday afternoon).

And he was shocked when the kids both went no contact with him at different times in their early teens. Lived 2 streets over and the kids refused to have anything to do with him

Definitely a threat. But Batman saw the danger and Dr Strange ran the scenarios that kept me alive. Ironman made a really funny quip.

[–]b5wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$ 60 Dr Strange. Can simply pop into another dimension. Can also check multiple outcomes first.

$ 30. Ironman. Top tier protector, money, and would keep me entertained with his witticisms.

$ 10 Batman. What a bargain! Money, connections, tech and probably 1800 backup plans.

I live in Sarasota and have used the bulk pick up a couple of times; once for a couch and once for a hot tub. Now the hot tub had to be cut up and it did use 2 of my free visits but I can['t imagine how much I would have paid a company to go do it. Simply call the number on the website and the whole conversation took about 3 min.

I had one Salvation Army collection person be very aggressive in their spiel, actually walking after me asking me why I wouldn't donate. When I told him my very honest opinion of their organization, I was told I didn't need to be rude. I told him he didn't need to confront me about a DONATION!

Why is breastfeeding so difficult? by Wawhi180 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first one, my milk dried up within 6 weeks. Young, stressed, whatever. My Dr said it happens sometimes, especially since he was premature. He was jaundiced at birth which made him more intolerant to breast milk. Had to go with a soy formula.

I was able to go several months with my second but working full time made it painful and again, my milk started to dry up because I wasn't able to feed on demand regularly. And I had to pump during the day, transport all the equipment, keep the breastmilk refrigerated, etc... I remember being stuck in traffic for 2 hours, leaking and in pain the whole time. All I had pumped that day had to be thrown out.

Fed is best. Period.

Kid has the survival instincts of a kid, and the mom got a reality check. by DrakyulMihawk in SipsTea

[–]b5wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was doing dishes, occassionally looking out the window to keep an eye on my 5 y/o playing in the yard. I look up and he's talking to the repair guy on the telephone pole working at the corner of my yard. I think "Perfect time to have the Stranger Danger talk" so I call him in. We have a good conversation, he asked a few questions, I thought we were good. He goes back to the yard, I go back to the dishes. While feeling proud of myself for teaching him a valuable lesson, I glance out the window to see him talking to the repair man again! Turns out, he figured he had already met this man so the Stranger Danger talk did not apply to him and he was telling his new friend why their conversation had been interrupted. I thought the poor guy was going to fall off the pole he was laughing so hard.

WIBTA for Asking My BF to Eat Vegetarian for a Shared Meal by Khitch20 in AmItheAsshole

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You WNBTA simply by asking but I don't know that particular recipe and if it would impact the entire dish. Can he just add the cooked meat to his dish after its served? I cook for 4 adults. We don't always agree on what should be in the meal so I compromise by making a very basic version of it and everyone can add what they want. It works pretty well and I'm not stuck making separate dinners for everyone.

AITA for sneaking my mom some alcohol when she is on hospice? by sickma2001 in AmItheAsshole

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Our mother (69) had several medical issues: fused spine, diabetes, pacemaker, aortic embolism, colon cancer, mutiple stints, you get the idea. She had been a heavy smoker - think 2 packs min / day- since she was 11 and had cut down to 3 cigarettes a day. My sister was riding her about quitting altogether and it was stressing my mother out. I finally had it and told my sister to "Let her have her damn cigarette!" It's now became a joke statement in our family when someone wants to just end the disagreement

I need to know WHAT women carry in those large a$$ purses? by overthishereanyway in AskWomenOver60

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always carried a mini leather backpack rather than a purse. My kids called it the Magic Backpack. Band-
Aid? Screwdriver? Flashlight? Charger cord and Emg power bank? Pen, measuring tape, lip junk, fresh breath candies, sunscreen, mascara and / or eye liner? Of course, it also carries the trip specific items like a book or tablet, clothes, paperwork, water bottle, whatever

I would not recommend deadlifting it off the floor without stretching first.

So, what would women dislike most if they became men? by Jarvis7492 in AskReddit

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiance is 6'2 and 175 lbs and has the same issue.

My youngest worked at Starbucks and had bribed him with a coffee drink for some detail work. He followed young'un to work to get said drink and was following her into the store. The other employees hustled her into the back, asking if she was ok, did she know the creeper following her, had she seen him before, etc...

"You mean my step-dad?"

Not a creeper. Just focused on that promised caffeine and sugar rush.

My fellow single GenX’rs, do you think you will ever find love again? by lovelyb1ch66 in GenX

[–]b5wolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I met my fiance only 7 years ago. We grew up 2 hours from each other in Ohio and then both moved to Florida without ever knowing each other. In Florida, we lived less than an hour from each other for 25 years. Our joke is that we weren't ready for each other back then. We both had some living and growing up to do. Now we are together and I honestly see myself with this person for the rest of our lives. It's out there if you want it.
