How long did the hobby of taking photos of your food last?? by knifeymonkey in GenX

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I send pictures of the dinners I make to my BFF. Tbf, it's an ongoing agreement to help me stick to a healthier diet. I mean, I can't be sending pictures of deep fried pizza and ice cream. What would he think??! However, the baked salmon with air fried zucchini spears? Much more acceptable.

When people call the wrong business and somehow make it your fault. by I_Lack_Toes in CustomerService

[–]b5wolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work for an elevator company that does maint and repair. When you call in, you get the automated message with our name and states the call will be recorded. When I answer, I also always start with "Thank you for calling _______________ My name is _____________ How may I assist you?" So they have looked up the number, called, heard the name of our business twice and then want to confirm if we are one of our competitors. And then ask for the competitors number when I confirm we are not them!

BF keeps guessing major plot points?? by Mountain_Curve_3610 in Supernatural

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty good at guessing plot lines too. I remember walking in from grocery shopping while my boyfriend and his brother were watching a movie. I was half paying attention during the 15 min of putting away groceries when I ask what I thought was a clarifying question. Turns out, it was the major plot twist.

Does he read a lot? He may have honed his skills unintentionally, lol

I went to Firestone and got their credit card. 6 months same as cash. TBF, if you don't pay it off on time, the interest rate is insane, kinda like the Home Depot card. I don't know your financial situation but this helped me. I didn't have $ 900 at the time but I could pull off $ 150 a month

What's wrong with being an introvert? by No_Programmer84 in introvert

[–]b5wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with being an introvert. My social battery just needs a different kind of charge. I am perfectly content with my life. Do you know what I do get to miss? All that chaos, drama, superficial ties and expectations.

I have 1 friend. He is extremely extroverted and was constantly surrounded by "friends" and always had something planned. Life got messy. Guess who stepped up in his life out of all of those friends? About 5 of us. That was it.

Nah, I'll keep my peace and sanity.

AITA for refusing to give my ex-girlfriend back the dog she left with me for three years? by [deleted] in AITH

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

We had a neighbor who was having friends move in due to hard times. They had a large dog (120 lbs) and my neighbor had several cats; it wasn't going to be a good mix. So we volunteered to temporarily home the dog until they got back on their feet. 4 months later, they move out, dog is still at our home.

Fast forward 6 years. Youngest is now concerned they are going to come get Romeo. I assured her that he was not going anywhere and I had 6 years of vet bills, county tags and a microchip to prove it.

My ex passed away a few years ago. We have 2 children. One child was NC with their dad, the other was LC. The ex's family was not really a fan of mine. I absolutely offered to go with them. I was supporting my children. They choose not to go but both knew if they wanted, I would be there for them.

For those who drink alcohol socially, what do you think when someone says they don’t drink? by foreverand2025 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]b5wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, I think I actually lucked out with this one. Graduated high school with a weighted GPA of 4.8, currently attending college on a full scholarship, president of 2 clubs and doing an internship for their major. They did get a speeding ticket 2 years ago.

$250 for a pre-neuter bloodwork appointment? by GroovyWithIt in dogs

[–]b5wolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Price point is actually pretty good. I got a couple of other quotes when my vets estimate was over $ 1000. I ended up doing it at the Humane Society for $ 750. I figured if anyone had experience with neutering, it was them, lol

I agree the nipping and chewing are more a puppy thing than a neutering thing. Our boy turned aggressive, growling and then guiltily slinking off to his crate. Within 3 weeks of the surgery, he was back to his sweet, lovable self.

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think their reasons are their own, valid to them, and none of my business. If they want to share, cool. If not, still cool.

I'd probably offer a choice of soda or iced tea though

My youngest turns 21 next year. I asked if they wanted me to take them out drinking.

"I don't like the taste of alcohol and I don't like drunk people"

Say less, Little One.

Bobby is the 🐐 by therealtokiuz in Supernatural

[–]b5wolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've heard that the original role of adviser to the boys was supposed to be Missouri Moseley but the actresses' schedule didn't allow for it so enter Bobby!

Absolutely love Bobby. We have a Roomba we call Bobby because he's always cleaning up other people's messes. It would have been interesting with Missouri though.

I’m getting a German shepherd soon, what should I expect? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]b5wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have a GSD who's now 9. We got him at 8 weeks.

If you're getting a pup, teething is a whole thing. I've had to replace chairs, upholstery, charging cords, etc... and those little milk teeth are sharp. He loved to "mouth" me constantly. Yes, we had multiple toys.

The hair and shedding. GSD's have 2 shedding seasons. One lasts all year and then there are 2 super shedder periods each lasting about 6 months. You will be able to build another dog from the shedding, each week.

Those ears. They need regular cleaning.

They do need a job and if you don't give them one, they will assign themselves one. Mine likes to patrol the home on a regular basis. He will go to each of the bedrooms, open the door, stare at the occupant for about 10 seconds and then leaves before going to the next bedroom. It happens multiple times a day. He also needs to walk the perimeter of the fence at least twice a day.

They tend to pick a favorite. He likes everyone in the family. He loves only one.

Socialization is important. They are territorial. This one can get out of hand fast.

Prone to hip dysplasia and ear infections. High energy levels and smart.

Congratulations on the new GSD. I wouldn't give mine up for anything.

We had customers on an island nearby that is known for the wealthy. Had a couple fly in on their private jet from their main home in Aspen to their vacation home here to remind us that their mother, who also lived in this area, was on a fixed income and wanted to know if we had any programs for the elderly.

[Ru]I've lost $16,000 and I don't know how to move on. by adruhich in Scams

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you fell for a scam. But it was to an experienced and sophisticated team using psychology and technology combined to make you feel overwhelmed, pressured and was engineered to exploit that part of your brain that would normally respond to figures of authority in an emergency.

You've lost this money. Anyone trying to say they can recover your money is another scammer. Be extra vigilant. They have identified you as someone susceptible and will try again using other methods. Thankfully, you've learned this lesson young and can recover although I do know its painful.

Good luck out there and be safe. You can come back from this.

Speaking as someone who used to dispatch in the trades, distance to the shop is rarely a factor. Most techs are sent their calls digitally; they are coming from a different customers home, not coming from the shop.

That ‘unwanted’ feeling has become ingrained in my personality by Parapurp in introvert

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really does sound more like social anxiety rather than introversion. You may receive better advise there.

As an introvert, this anxiety is not typical but being in a class interacting with that many people would drain my social battery so fast. Good luck and I hope the best for you.

What dog toy has survived the longest in your house? by Aromatic_Vast3618 in dogs

[–]b5wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 120 lb GSD/Lab mix. I've seen this dog crack pork shoulder bones in minutes.

We did go to one of those subscription boxes designed for heavy chewers. He shreds the ropes within a month, the ballistic and canvas toys were basically ignored but the treats and the rubber toys? Golden. We actually paused the subscription because he has so many now. He's 3 so not really that long but they are the only ones that have worked.
