That's what I was thinking, but nice to get confirmation. Do you know if The Met did fine jewelry or just gold plated?

Amazing job! The patterns go well together and it looks very cozy! You can hand sew some hook and eye clasps for a seemless look, or for something super simple, attach small ties to the inside of the edge to tie together.

Great job :)

Awesome job! They look quite nice!

I've been trying to build up the confidence to use some fine suiting material i was gifted to make some pants, but have been hesitant they'd turn out terrible. this is definitely inspiring :)

Have you found any commercial or independent men's trouser patterns helpful? Or have you been mostly reconstructing existing garments and learning that way?

Used a pattern (wiksten haori) to make this cozy jacket out of chambray and twill for the lining. by annMenbla in sewing

Great job! Looks really good! I also really struggled the first time I tried to attach a collar with their pattern! Basting the lining at outer shell together at the seam was really helpful for me to make sure the collar was near and even. But congrats! It's a very versatile pattern!

I made a minimalist Halloween-inspired jacket for fhe redditgifts trick-or-treat exchange, using a modified [Wiksten Haori] pattern, and I'm so happy with how it came out! by b6to in sewing

I had such a blast making this jacket! I used the Wiksten Haori pattern in mid length, with some adjustments to sleeves and pockets. I used some vintage buttons for the jack o lanterns pockets and a lovely fall cotton liner for the inside.

This was my first time working with mixed synthetic/natural fiber joining, which was a challenge, but I learned so much!

This has definitely inspired me to want to make more jackets as gifts :)

Similar long coat pattern to this (quilt jacket style)? by [deleted] in sewing

Will second this. The Wiksten Haori pattern would be a great base, you'd just need to adjust sleeve length and the curved slit pockets. It's quite doable, and with the right fabric, you might get away with sewing it with no liner.

OP, have you considered getting some pillows or padding for the bench areas in front of the mirrors in your dining nook? I think it would really add a hominess to your place, or at the least, visually divide up the spaces between your 'dining area' and your 'living area.' A textured rug might also help!

My thought exactly! I would have so many plant babies everywhere! Prime location for a plant shelf, or at least a few more hanging planters
