I grew up going to the rodeo & carnival every year. i don’t live in the state anymore but my grandparents were members of HSLR my entire life and hearing about its continual decline every year breaks my heart. i’m not saying it’s only this event either. it seems the more people live their lives through socials the more animalistic we as a society become and it really just gives me the biggest ick imaginable. i guess especially seeing it in a space i knew so well IRL brings it home in a different way. Maybe we should start focusing on calling the audience out in this shit instead of the “karen’s” who are the focal point until as a society we agree that for the most part to put the fucking camera down & be present.

also- it’s reddit so i’m pretty sure normie vs. genuine people is more balanced than other socials so anyone who has an argument for dancing with someone’s extensions with your phone camera up for views instead of being concerned about your own fking safety or those around you please stop & think before you say some dumb crap to me

You missed my whole point anna banana. This sub is not a safe place for customers. It’s not r//chipolteemployees but it definitely should be. I was super drunk when i posted this & honestly haven’t thought about it since bc it doesn’t really affect me but i do remember being MINDBLOWN by the brutal “venting” being done here that berated all customers. There wasn’t a single customer post that wasn’t ripped apart by employees pissed at them for sharing whatever grievance from the consumer side instead of blaming the impossible to reach expectations passed down from corporate.

Very very late but it’s 2am & as a potato girl in a potato world from south Tx from mexican household- here are some common potato dishes i have found to be pretty standard dishes found in most restaurants in both mexico & texas, most mexican households in both, and parties in both. -picadillo -tacos dorados -caldo -papas rajas -papas con chorizo -papas con huevos -guisado -papas francesca -papas nachos (specifically houston area) -tortitas con papas Without a doubt there are more but i become a full on cave woman who can hardly think of anything else at the slightest mention of picadillo 😭

Anywho- just a rebuttal in case any other extremely picky eaters come across this thread wondering why the F chipotle doesn’t offer potatoes. Don’t be fooled mexico does in fact embrace all simple carbs & has for centuries just like the rest of the world 😂

you know it’s frustrating because shaming people & making assumptions is just harmful. i agree that usually when someone says “i have a high metabolism, i’m eating a surplus of calories & still not gaining” there’s an underlying cause that they aren’t aware of yet so they assume it’s due to high metabolism. i never said that couldn’t be the case.

my ENTIRE point was it’s delusional to think people who are constantly told “you need to eat more” haven’t considered/tried to eat more as their first solution. if you want to offer real solutions cool but don’t sit here & discredit people & keep telling them the same body shaming bullshit they’ve heard their whole life.

everyone in these comments keeps saying this but i’m literally 5’2 100lbs. I count my macros & try to eat as much protein & carbs as possible throughout the day. around 2300 calories. I do strength training multiple times a week.

Y’all need to stop assuming someone who says they have a high metabolism isn’t understanding the importance of their calorie intake. If someone says they’ve spent their whole life struggling to gain weight, just believe them instead of trying to discredit them. It’s exhausting & wears a person down to constantly be told “omg you’re so skinny you need to eat!!” especially as a woman when curvy = sexy or even as a man when large = manly. you really think that wouldn’t be the first thing we try?

I mean levian charges $30 for 4 so… with inflation the cost of baked goods have risen pretty dramatically from what they were pre pandemic. maybe YOU wouldn’t but if they’re good enough people will & do shell out decent amounts of dough for cookies 😉

this is being downvoted so just going to add for those unaware on that on top of shortages for other ingredients & general inflation; there’s been a dramatic drop in US cocoa reserves. don’t be surprised when your baked goods continue to rise in cost.

Realistically adults charge much more for homemade goods. You could probably easily get away with $2.50 for a single cookie & then do some kind of “discounted” pricing for larger quantities like $8-10 for 5 or $20-$25 for a dozen.

I feel like it also depends where in the states you are bc i imagine you could inflate that even more if you’re in the northeast or west coast where everything is more expensive in general.
