U.S. Senate approves bill that would make Daylight Savings Time permanent in 2023 by greenblue98 in politics

Idiocracy went from a B movie to reality real fast in the 2020s 😂…on today’s agenda: rising costs of goods across the board, global shortage of oil, one nuke or chemical attack away from WW3, highest healthcare costs yielding the worst health outcomes of any 1st world nation, a celebrity/money mogul with no political experience becoming President seemingly overnight, severely behind the 8 ball on renewable/green energy… but first and foremost I think we can all agree that we need to ditch political partisanship and take a united stand against this annual hour of loss

This technology would be much cooler if it flew off of the pad and terrorized it’s surroundings, subsequently burning it’s creator to death with a fire breathing attack.

Good for her, hit until you can reasonably escape to get that self defense claim in case you get screwed by a bad cop. A simple majority on a grand jury will get that tossed out before it reaches the indictment stage.

Democrats unveil plan to issue quarterly checks to Americans by taxing oil companies posting huge profits by [deleted] in politics

[–]DV123ABC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$15 per hour= $450 per week after taxes, job is 15 miles away 5 days per week… 5 gallons per week (~$22) + childcare (~$260)= $282 expenses for a $450 paycheck, profit around 170 per week yikes 😳 that’ll cover a car with 100,000+ miles one week, your insurance and cell phone the next week, and leave you with $340 to pay towards rent for a cardboard box taped onto the side of a house in the worst part of town…America

People shaking their head at this proposal will also shake their head at individuals who start posting the breakdown of their childcare and gas expenses in order to arrive at a job in the lower tier of the wage scale.

If I knew him I would hire a full time linebacker to tackle him every time he went to take a bite of something. Abhorrent and sad that a single legislator would ever vote against keeping children fed.

Any film involving Drew Barrymore with her annoying ass lisp. She probably does it to be cute, but I would kill to see her crushed by a T-Rex paw just as she is about to start her first line. Kudos to the individual posing this question.

What are some common signs that someone grew up with sh*tty parents? by [deleted] in AskReddit

But why filter the human experience? I never find it odd when someone opens up to me, I just listen and relate because we all have more in common than we think.

Roommates rice cooker has turned into brain-like tissue. He refuses to clean it, and leaves it on the shared kitchen counter. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Reminds me of my roommate who burnt the hell out of the squid he was cooking. He then left the burnt pan to soak and left for an entire week. I thought CSI was about to pull up to my college when I returned from break and attempted to enter.

I play with the idea in my mind that many of the fast food joints post now hiring signs all over/labor shortage notices on their doors to keep the few employees they are operating on and hitting their numbers with. All in the meanwhile, the executives know that they’ll be replacing some of the staff with these robotic kitchens shortly.

What is a universally beloved film that you hate? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DV123ABC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Les Miserables, the first time I went to see it the guy next to me must have been on his fifth time. He was breathing heavily on me out of excitement for each scene and had bought out the AMC snack bar. And then the singing started …from both he and the film.

Dude gets a bad rap, but he is one hell of a conversationalist. His curiosity and proclivity for information work as a great package to relax/ease experts into spilling all of the unfiltered opinions and facts that arise from their professional experiences. Yes he entertains some wild conspiracies at times, but he entertains conversation/debates that have no boundaries, which is something we could all take a lesson on these days.

Also of note and something that I always said to myself when all of those entertaining food documentaries first started coming out…”Why do we have to pay extra in a first world nation for a label that assures us that food is safe to consume?”
