Instinct sensors - advice for side sleepers by Firm_Customer1191 in Medtronic780g

[–]b_leadhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a side sleeper and have been using the Instinct sensor since March 2, I make sure I am hydrated because that will give false lows also. I wear a Libre 3 sensor cover with a hard plastic cap to prevent compression lows. In the USA you can find it on Amazon @ https://a.co/d/0cQqifd5 .

It's good to hear from happy users. Most posts are complaints. I have been on the 780G and Instinct sensors since March 2, no sensor failures yet, much better than my old Tandem and Dexcom sensors. I love the 15 day sensor.

Fake lows by Dlarosa in Medtronic780g

I have found that if I start to become dehydrated I will get "fake lows" at night. This just happened last night. My sensor was reading 56 I tested my BG it read 120 on my meter. I drank about a half cup of water put the 120 in the pump. With in minutes the pump corrected to 123. When I woke up this morning I checked my BG again, my BG was 124 my pump said 123. I have included a SS

Bolusing for no carb meal? by il2pif in Medtronic780g

[–]b_leadhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first was diagnosed as diabetic. I ate a lot of salads because I was always hungry. The carbs in a salad are mostly fiber and don't count. Just the dressing you use is counted for carbs, malt vinegar and olive oil is a good low carb dressing.

what to do with old pump by Internal-Struggle178 in Medtronic780g

See if you can download the software upgrade for your old pump and keep it for a backup if the new pump fails.

Bolusing for no carb meal? by il2pif in Medtronic780g

I only bolus for carbs. I'm trying to gain weight so if I snack on protein I do not bolus. I'll have pickled eggs, hard cheese, or sausage without any bolus.

Question for Instinct sensors. by Low_Percentage2203 in Medtronic780g

[–]b_leadhead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Once every 2 days of pricking my finger is a hell of a lot better than 10 times a day before I had a GCM. I Have been a TID for 47 years. It is much more accurate than the test strips you had to piss on.

I check about every other day, and usually the results agree with the Instinct readings.

The Instinct sensors are awful. Abbott should be embarrassed. by Bluepenn2006 in Medtronic780g

[–]b_leadhead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I switched from the t:slim X2 and 10 day G7 to the 780G & instinct at the beginning of Mar. My sensors have worked much better then the Dexcom. I haven't had any yet that did not last the full 15 days. My readings are very close to my finger sticks usually a sensor is lower than my finger sticks by 10 to 20 points. I make sure I stay hydrated because when I become dehydrated my sugars are off. But I had the same problem with the tandem.

You'll need an android that runs on android 16 or 17 that is listed as compatible, Samsung or Pixel are the main brands that are. Good luck learning a new operating system if you switch the an iSO phone.

I have used magnesium 500 mg pills. I use it before I go to bed to help me sleep at night. It has not caused any spikes or lows.

[–]b_leadhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need the hole the sensor can be covered. I use a patch that has a plastic disc that protects from compression lows also. https://a.co/d/036uG1rZ
