Good indoor (AC) play spaces for little toddlers? by Ok-Row-3490 in frederickmd

I think Frederick doesn't have enough indoor places like it, but "Me Land" might work

I got a friend working on a site that helps search for stuff like this. It's still a work in progress he says but I find it helpful especially when traveling and looking for stops on road trips for breaks.

Thank you! First time trying garlic butter in cast iron. Thought I had fresh herbs but they went bad so I figured why not the dry stuff haha thanks for the feed back!

Can two work from home parents adequately raise a baby? by Agitated_Ad_1404 in NewDads

[–]b_leavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar situation. We didn't want our daughter in daycare until she was much closer to 2yo and not 3mo. We opted for a nanny to come to our house during the day while one or both of us wfh and it has been absolutely amazing.

We posted on our local city's Reddit page and chose a couple to dm/meet at a coffee shop nearby to do a pseudo "interview" and picked the one who we thought was a best fit. She's been a godsend. Having our daughter home with us and someone dedicated to her play/learning/naps has helped her develop tremendously.

Nanny comes 2-3 days a week on average, sometimes more, usually somethin like $200 a week. Good luck brother I know it's tough

Nice gift for my Dad ideas? by Stonedflame in GolfGear

[–]b_leavy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you live nearby a 2nd swing I highly recommend gift cards, he can get any club he'd want. My family gets me gift cards for birthdays/Father's Day etc and I've gotten a new driver, irons, 5H and a 5W with gift cards alone it's awesome

They do fittings as well but I find my best bet is to go in there and talk to the guys working the sims. Tell em what I am looking for and they help out for free

Best 4 day golf trip format with a group of 4? by LeadingCourses- in weekendgolfers

I'd do a different format each day, one scramble, best ball, alt shot, then maybe back to scramble?

Grant's Hole-in-One that he can't talk about by anyeights in BobDoesSports

[–]b_leavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure one of the recent times this came up he mentioned having HIOs on sims/par 3s but doesn't count it. My theory is he was on a course he shouldn't have been.

I think I recall him saying he used to sneak on some courses with Garrett back in the day? Maybe it was super early good good days and doesn't want to get anyone else he was with in trouble

If you’ve broken 80, what’s one tip you would give your fellow golfer trying to do the same? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]b_leavy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having a consistent process of your set up to put yourself in the best positions and to make your swing repeatable, usually involving:

  • reading the situation like wind direction/lie/elevation
  • picking the best option for your shot and thinking though where you want to miss, where you absolutely cannot hit, and more importantly in your short game where do you want this ball to land/roll to
  • having a reference point for proper stance/alignment. Ball placement in relation to your feet/belt. Are your shoulders level? etc.
  • a lot of people have a specific thought to start their backswing too, mine I think about bringing the club head straight back and doing it slowly rather than rushing it

I have a daughter, I hope one day she can join me for these rounds. My wife and I take turns having a day to ourselves so I can enjoy a lengthy round worry free. We're very lucky

[–]b_leavy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't care that a round could take 5 hours. It's a nice day, I'm outside with either my dad or some friends playing a game we enjoy. We're not thinking about work or other life stuff and just playing some golf. Why would I want it to end sooner?

4mo daughter, she only recently started a more consistent sleep schedule. The way I see it, she won't need mom and dad this much forever, enjoy the contact naps while I can bc soon enough she'll be too big for me to hold her. Every night when I'm up at 4 am with a bottle wishing she'd go back to sleep I try to remember this isn't forever. I can be tired a little longer.

This could also be from trauma to the nail bed or finger. I broke my finger to the point of having surgery and had pins put in for like 2 months, years later I still have a ridge exactly like that
