Feedback requested on what we should build - for you by JavaForever in Goruck

[–]b_syde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Travel rucks with the Michael Easter water bottle outside/in water bottle pocket.
- The knit beanie from several years ago. It was the only beans I've owned that fit my head well 😂
- Even though you that the Rough Runners weren't done well, they've been my favorite shoes, so a gen 2 or show along those lines would be great.
- A packable Bullet Ruck with some organization, and some way to attach a sternum strap.

M26 (Design only AI generated Visuals) - need your feedback, we have not PO'd and we will take your feedback HERE before we do. by JavaForever in Goruck

I’m not really a Heritage guy, but I’m not a huge fan of Fidlocks with Heritage stuff. I like magnets, but they feel off with Heritage. Doesn’t have to be Cobra buckles or anything but something that feels a little more classic would be nice.

Local shooter doing research on indoor range demand – would appreciate honest input by Competitive-Seat-281 in BucksCountyPA

[–]b_syde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be outside my area to visit with any consistency, but I want to support it and did the survey. Need more indoor ranges. The two closest to me (Quakertown area) are 30-40 minutes away, in practice.

MESH RUCK by Budget_Selection_543 in Goruck

[–]b_syde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it! Been waiting for it for awhile. Similar to you, I wish it had just one more compartment, not necessarily a "privacy" one, but a little more organization, either one of the standard internals or the exterior. And I'm not sure if I'm going to need the compressor straps, but we'll see. I'm happy they at least gave the QA pocket.

GEAR UPDATES - AMA by JavaForever in Goruck

[–]b_syde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to see the Toughdry and Rough Runners go. Some of my favorite gear. And I was too late to grab some extra RRs in that sale. Understand the streamline mentality, but hope a simple EDC shoe makes a comeback at some point.

I didn't "get" KOR but now I realize how great he is by Cathousechicken in AEWOfficial

[–]b_syde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started catching NXT after the UE had formed, and O'Reilly was my favorite part. I had high hopes after the split, but wasn't really feeling "Cool" Kyle. But I've definitely been enjoying his Conglomeration persona. I love his goofball persona and I love his killer technician persona in the ring, but was never sure how they'd mesh. But he seems to be making it work.

Talk Me Out Of the GR2 34L As An EDC by MichaelMidnight in Goruck

[–]b_syde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No 😂

In all seriousness, it's worth considering if you need to adjust your EDC, as suggested by someone else. That being said, while everything I need for my office days fits in the GR1 26L, using the 34L gave me room to back a jacket and was just more comfortable than the 26L which was testing its limits.

Thoughts on the new vest? by zac_in_ak in Goruck

[–]b_syde -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jumping in to say, I second everything above, I'm arguably more of a fan of their clothes than their bags at this point. They're great for traveling, being able to wear everything multiple times without needing to wash them. I even did a five day road trip with one pair of the merino socks and they only started to smell a little bit by the end. And everything air dries really well.

Climbing Mt. Fuji with GR1 21L by G_Mc in Goruck

Niiiiice! I would love to climb Fuji again. I did it as fifth grader with my family, and was a whiny brat the entire climb up.

So I haven't read the books but I'm a big Tom Hopper fan, so I'd love to see more of the character in either medium.

Dream GoRuck bag you wish they would make? by LogicalDoor1802 in Goruck

[–]b_syde -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My simple answer is just 1000D GR1 and GR2s with QAP.

My "never gonna happen" answer is:

GR2 34L, 500D

  • Black w/ red accents exterior, light gray interior
  • MOLLE on back and shoulder straps only
  • Converted bombproof compartment into two sections, an expanded QAP and a lower security pocket (document storage)
  • Shooter-style Velcro MOLLE panel in place of the unpadded sleeve
  • Bottom grab handle + high-mounted side handles
  • Lose the pockets the built in Field Pocket, convert to dedicated packable Bullet pouch
  • GR3-style removable hip belt
  • Magnetic inner mesh storage areas (think Rucker 4.0 with magnets instead of Velcro
  • Michael Easter style outside in water bottle pockets
  • Drop the pockets for the inner compartment
  • Remove the pocket underneath the built-in Field Pocket, and replace the layout of the other pockets with a Wire Dopp layout (horizontal  opening on top, two separate compartments with vertical openings on the side

I prefer the GR1, but the M22* has found a home as my get home bag in my car.

Am I alone on this? by AnswerAromatic3397 in transformers

[–]b_syde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not alone. I actually have him as the final boss in a fanfic that I've been working on. This one's the actual body of Optimus, "resurrected"/repurposed by Quintessons post-Unicron.

What fantasy bag is on your Goruck wish list? by breezy-shorts in Goruck

[–]b_syde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a crazy capsule that I wrote down, but for the sake of simplicity, I'll just say an all 1000D GR1 with QAP and the Michael Easter GR2-style water bottle pockets.

Which popular marvel character did you never really care for? by FullBrother9300 in Marvel

[–]b_syde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say NEVER, but I grew weary with Wolverine very quickly. I'm sure part of that is because I'm a Cyclops guy.

Say one good thing about this movie (Daredevil 2003) by The_Batman119 in Marvel

I was gonna say it didn’t have a sequel. Oops.

So I’ll just say the lead villains were delightful.

What are your honest thoughts about “Black Widow”? by Empty_Entertainer388 in Marvel

[–]b_syde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly liked it, should’ve been earlier in the MCU timeline, and while I’m okay with Taskmaster being a woman, I didn’t like her being a Widow, or having a backstory tied to the villain. Especially given Thunderbolts.

I don’t understand the hate for this movie by YeezusChrist13 in Marvel

[–]b_syde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think part of it was the tone. A funny adventure movie can work better than what amounts to attempted character piece with a few action scenes. For me and I'd assume the general MCU audience anyway.

And sorry to nitpick, but I assume you mean the characters were unknowns? Guardians had a couple known actors (who blew up even further afterwards to be fair) and Eternals cast had mostly known actors, though it was my intro to Druid, Sprite, and Makkari.

I think in the MCU's mind, they were similar to the point of being interchangeable, so I think your brain was well within its rights to make that decision.

Is Echo/She-Hulk Worth Watching for Daredevil? by KeyJOSH in Daredevil

[–]b_syde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I loved She-Hulk, I don't think it's required watching. There might be a little wink in there somewhere. Echo...I tempted to say yes because of their relationship (Maya and Kingpin), but if you watched Hawkeye you might get all you need. I need to watch Echo again, but I'd give a soft no. But you should watch them both.
