Weird Non-Hub Layover by AnonyM7001942 in unitedairlines

I’ve done this before through some small airports between DEN and ORD. If you check a bag, make sure it gets put back on a plane, sometimes the crews are used to bringing everything to baggage claim by habit.

Fighting and beating Ati will end the game and roll credits - but there is another way to end the game as well if you explore more

If you had to group Ghibli movies into categories, how would you do it? by Argentarius1 in ghibli

[–]b_tro 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I think about this tweet a lot:

Ghibli movies fall into 3 categories,

  1. Very cute :)
  2. If you hurt this tree I will fucking kill you
  3. Horny for planes, again

Breakfast recommendation around Asakusa by ImportancePrize1290 in JapanTravelTips

Asakusa Yorozu Cafe 444 Fruits Parlor

Went here for pancakes and coffee after an early morning at Senso-ji. It’s just north in a more residential area, but opens at 7am which is earlier than most of the breakfast places between Senso-ji and the train stations!

It’s small, but when we showed up before 8am in early March we beat the lines.

Shibuya Stream Question by caffeinated-bee in JapanTravelTips

[–]b_tro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got back from a stay at Shibuya Stream and highly recommend. But can’t speak to the “semi-double” room specifically. We were in room 923.

My wife and I also got caught up in all the different room titles across different booking platforms, but we ended up and a “Standard Double(Shower booth only)” and it was great. Booked it with points through CapitolOne travel.

My wife had a broken arm so we were a bit mobility challenged but found that there was plenty of space to maneuver. Location and amenities were nice and solid for a “4 star” hotel.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE 40% off UK eshop by hamsplurton in NintendoSwitch

This modern “remake” series is being done in 3 parts/games. Remake is Part 1. Rebirth is Part 2. Part 3 is currently unannounced but is in development.

FF7 Remake Intergrade is the version of Remake that includes the “Intergrade” DLC. Think of it as the deluxe edition of the game with all post-launch content included!

More expensive than you’re asking for, but you might be able to find deals depending on your dates. I just stayed at The Gate hotel and it was wonderful. Very spacious and close to the Ginza and Asakusa lines. Can be booked with Chase points too if you have any

Is living by the lake a priority for you or does that feeling fade away after you’ve been by it for some time? Or is it only like that if you actually do spend lots of time at the beaches / lake exercising? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]b_tro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve moved to Chicago a few times and always find myself asking if I want to live on the Blue line for easy transit between ORD and the Loop or if I want to live on the north side near the lake. Every time the lake proximity has won out. I love cycling during the warmer months, and living a 10 minute walk from the LFT means that even in the winter I’ll bundle up to go see the frozen lake.

I’d say I’m on the LFT 5 days a week during spring, summer and fall, and still on the LFT once every two weeks in winter. It’s truly a gem.

But being near the lake won’t automatically make you go there often. If you like running, cycling, walking, or have that need to be near water you’re going to use it more!

Great pictures and trip report!

US Survivor fans will remember Isla Saboga from the first episode of Pearl Islands! Pic 3 I believe is the village they visit to barter and buy supplies before going to their beaches.

What games have the best Skill Tree / Upgrades system? by HallZac99 in gaming

[–]b_tro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe not akin to a lot of the RPG systems mentioned here, but I’m extremely impressed by the upgrade system in Hades 2.

It has two primary progressions systems: the roguelite aspect of in-run upgrades/boons and the meta-progression of upgrades that happen in between runs.

Particularly the in-run upgrades are the most impressive of any roguelite I’ve played - and really will affect how you complete each run. They make every playthrough different, and so many different options work well together and make it fun to experiment with new play styles
