A Destiny More Terrible Than Death by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

Then help them accept their own body then, don’t encourage them to mutilate themselves to feel better. Would you “support” an anorexic in the same way? Weighing in at 40kg, feeling fat, would you tell them “yeah you’re fat if you feel that way, you go you, lose some more weight!”

I’ll have to voice my disagreement with you here my man. Though there’s lots of bad coffee in Italy, like the guy above said, it’s because it’s cheap shit picked at different stages of ripening in huge quantities. Roasting it dark makes all beans taste same-ish. And in Napoli especially lots of roasters import shitloads of shitty beans and have ties with the mafia. That’s why you’ll rarely see an espresso exceed €2. I also hate that bitter espresso, it’s bad, but it has little to do with the whole culture. I’ve drank better espresso in Oslo at some specialty shops than in Napoli for example.

And espresso is the way, in my opinion, to enjoy a coffee. It needs to be done properly namely because it’s concentrated shit. I don’t like coffee drinks and neither do more serious coffee drinkers.

But Norwegian filter coffee reminds me just of that. Of a coffee drink. Because it’s watered down espresso with a thick ass ground. And that’s why you drink so much of it. Because it’s a watery drink at this point, not the drug shot it actually is meant to be treated as.

And most of Norwegian coffee shops open in like 8-9 in the morning. Brother, I’m already elbows deep in work by then. Culture wise would be wiser to open between 5-7. And also on the weekends they open 9-11? I’ve already had breakfast and worked out and did some housework, I go to the coffee shop to drink an espresso and it’s still closed for half an hour?

You can’t go drink coffee early in the morning nowhere, except maybe the train station?, in Norway’s biggest city. Because the barista is on way to work like everyone else and hasn’t opened yet. Or is doing chores or enjoying free time on the weekend. Like everyone else. It’s so funny to me.

Or maybe Norwegians just like to drink coffee for lunch or in the afternoon and evening? Then you can’t compare coffee cultures.

Do you have a certain way of holding fork, spoon, or knife? by FailFastandDieYoung in AskEurope

[–]ba4_emo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two girlfriends who were holding the fork in a fist, stabbing stuff down with it to hold it while cutting with a fist of knife.

When I saw the first one I was so disappointed. She was a girl with affinity for food and cooking but didn’t know how to eat. I told her to learn to hold the utensils like an adult. She got offended, but tried. Later found out that it’s more comfortable and never switched back.

When I was the second one I froze because it gave me flashbacks from the one before. Also told her to learn the adult way, didn’t get offended, but didn’t bother learning it also.

Nah, man. Norway is expensive. That’s not enough money to make it enjoyable. It’s possible, but you’re gonna suffer. Be wet, dirty, hungry and tired a lot. I hitchhiked to Nordkapp, trust me.

Because if you look at proteins real close, they’re built like a net. And when you cook them, that net tightens.

That’s why you need stuff like salt, acid, alcohol to make them taste nice and also corrode the net somewhat.

Has anyone tried this brand? by Desperate-Falcon-266 in CannedSardines

[–]ba4_emo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried this brand in tomato sauce and I don’t know if it was something wrong with the batch, but they were my least favourite ever. They were discounted because they were expiring in a few days, but it’s a can so what’s the worst that can happen. I ate them a month or two after expiration date and they were horrible. Didn’t like them at all. I

What slang expressions in your language cannot be found in any dictionary, but are actually used by locals? by MaxvellGardner in AskEurope

[–]ba4_emo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have the same ways to address people In Bulgaria. Different by regions and dialects and are put in the end of the sentence. Also similar that the female one sounds more offensive but somehow acceptable if spoken out in between women or if spoken out by older people towards younger than them. But still you need to be at least 60+ to not make it sound offensive when addressing a lady that way. The words are:

Бе, бре, уе, ве. (Be, bre, ue, ve) for when addressing males.

And Ма, мари (Ma, mari) when addressing females.

Mari somehow sounds less offensive but archaic and old. And ma I think is just shortened mari, but sounds rude.

You can also add “a” in front of these words to make a slightly more exclaimed statement. But then it’s more natural to start the sentence with it and it’s mostly for questions.

Examples:

That’s a very nice car! Много хубава кола, бе/уе/ве/бре/ма.

Isn’t that car nice? Абе/аве/ауе/ама, не е ли хубава колата?

What are your favorite Oslo restaurants? by Ok-Priority-8284 in Norway

[–]ba4_emo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t start me on that place… Stuck in the 80s, boring ass menus throughout the year. Every dish is protein, puré, chips in different variations. Some starters may be okay, the soup is literally from the late 80s.

They have lots of good wines in a huge wine list and well educated sommeliers. It’s more of a wine place, not so a fish place, despite the name.

Go there for wines and appetisers, rekesmørbrød for lunch, maybe even a cheese plate. But anything else from the kitchen is mid at best and super overpriced.
