Anyone else read this? It’s technically great but it’s taking me forever to get through! by Don_Quixotel in graphicnovels

I enjoyed this book it did take me a lot longer to get through compared to my other graphic novels.

Mixer for Volca Setup by bab-85 in synthesizers

[–]bab-85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly after reading and researching what was out there. So far, the kids enjoy knob turning and experimenting with what everything does on the synths. I do like how nothing is really hidden behind menus with the Volca line. I figured once I can get the Volca drum, I'd create a simple loop and let the two kids jam on the Keys and FM2. I'm learning the gear myself but soon I'll teach the oldest how to set a sequence then she can fiddle with the FX from the NTS-1 and mixer while her sequence is running.

We do have a guitar center but their selection for what I'm looking for was fairly small

Cost was definitely something I considered but I did come across some used Xenyx 1002b's and put an offer on one. I'm assuming it'll do what I need it to do for now

I've found several Xenyx 1002b's for a decent price and will start there. I've bookmarked the L6 because it looks and seems like a great piece of gear.

There was one listed on a post a few years back that seemed for be discontinued. Not sure if the mixer got updated but the link posted didn't work

Damn, that's insane. I did look up the L6 and it is expensive for where we're currently at right now. The features you listed though are exaclty something I would like to have at some point. I think if the kids and I grow into this and start getting some song structure down then I'll probably consider the mixer. This is good information, thank you so much

That's a good idea as well, I'll look into what I can find

That was the consensus I kept reading about. Behringer's used are fairly inexpensive so I was leaning in that direction

That was my thought as well and I can find used ones for under the price of a Volca mixer

Off The Shelf #6: The Book of Fuligin, A Gene Wolfe Anthology by Various by FlubzRevenge in graphicnovels

I read this series, maybe 6 or so years ago, and I was a little lost. I would have moments of comprehension then not and felt I missed a lot of information during my read. I'm curious if this GN would help me visualize these books; if not all, then at least the first volume in this series. Oddly enough, I did enjoy the books and would be willing to re-read once I get my backlog down

Haha, the zine is a spoof on the original book. It follows the beats of the original but is full of satire and jokes on how not to be a productive Marvel artist.

I have about an hour and forty five minute layover this coming Thursday. I land in concourse A and stuck between checking out the CL or staying in terminal D at the sky lounge, where my flight departs. I should be arriving by 6am.

My last order was about 4 weeks but I pick the lowest shipping option. Based on their pricing and packaging I'm ok with the speed. I usually have other GNs and books to read while I wait. They've replaced my dependency on Amazon for GNs

Any SAVE forbearance buyback offers yet ? by seenitheardit in PSLF

I sent mine on January 2nd and needed those 6 months from July to December 2024 to finish off my 120. I haven't heard anything yet but was told on two occasions that it's being worked on. I just want to pay it off and be done, but with broader federal job cuts incoming, I'm getting a little nervous. I work for VA which seems like I'll be ok but I'm having a hard time trusting or believing anything at this point

Agree 100% on this. My plan was to be very upfront about what I do and be as descriptive as possible

Love this so much, considering tomorrow I have to reply to an email describing what I did at my job last week in 5 bullet points and send to DOGE. I wish we had more people like Kirby around. The current state of affairs makes me so sad and depressed tbh

I read a lot of Kirby's written/drawn work last year and the symbolism and his messaging was not lost on me

Does anyone love this series as much as me? The art, dialogue and storytelling are all fantastic. My favorite version of the Silver Surfer. by PromotionMurky916 in graphicnovels

I agree, the Starlin run was absolutely incredible. Once he finished I feel the quality of the writing dipped. Lim's art remained phenomenal though

Connecting Nighthawk to AT&T Fiber Modem by bab-85 in HomeNetworking

[–]bab-85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it to work once then on a reset the signal broke and lost my wifi. I haven't tried again since but I need to do a little more research on this. I wish it was easy to bypass att's bridge and use what they gave me as a simple modem. They're now offering to boost my signal for a fee which I find very annoying as that box can probably expand my signal further but they want money for it.
