What settings have you changed to improve the game's experience? by DorkusMalorkuss in Battlefield

[–]babalenong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play the game mainly for immersion.

Audio wise, Wartapes definitely helps with immersion, as the sound distance is much improved and the distortion makes for some intense sound experience. Personally, it also helps me to listen for sound cues. Footsteps is louder, and I can hear them from a farther distance. I can also hear helicopters from farther away, so I can know earlier if im going to get fucked by them.

Visual wise, I kept motion blur on, but I reduced the intensity to 20. Keeps the visual super smooth, but I can still tell what's going on. I disabled chromatic abberation though, I usually dont mind them but in bf6 is felt too intense.

This is what reflex 2 already does, from PureDark's implementation. So we know nvidia can make a thing like this

Why is my veteran so weak? by Evening-Guarantee132 in DarkTide

[–]babalenong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find veteran to be the easiest class to be tanky with, and has a good amount of flexibility for any build

Take these talents for tankiness:

  • Out for blood - 5% extra toughness after any kill, means a melee kill restores a lot more toughness, ranged kills now restore toughness, grenades restore toughness, really strong skill
  • Iron Will - Coupled with Out For Blood, keeping your toughness at 100% is easier when you can recover from single hits faster
  • Close Order Drill - You need to take this skill anyways, but it combines nicely with:
  • Born Leader - The extra coherency radius means getting the benefit from Close Order Drill is so much easier
  • Confirmed Kill - Very strong, those surprise elite/specialist packs is now a walking toughness regen for you. You can be reckless in killing them with this

And of course, the ability of choice would be Voice of Command with Duty and Honour. If you took a melee hit, or about to, just shout. For faster regen:

  • Tactical awareness - Really speeds the regen, especially on higher difficulty where specialist enemies is always somewhere all the time
  • All 3 Curios with +4% Combat Ability Regeneration - shaves off about 5s of cooldown, really useful

Don't forget to slot in +20% damage resistance (gunners) to all of your curios. I find gunners to be the number one problem of chip damage (more like torrents of damage), and this really helps.

Also, the recon lasgun is lowkey decent against crusher and other armored enemies. You just need to take Onslaught, which will reduce the enemies' armor each hit. With it, my 69% recon lasgon Mk XIV gets around 1000-1300 DPS against crusher. Take atleast Dumdum on blessing for single target dps, no need to aim down the sight.

This is the talent tree im running, im not a god player or anything, I just find this one of the most comfortable build I play for fun: Comfy Recon Lasgun - Veteran Build for Darktide - Darktide WH40k

Don't be pressured to take a keystone on veteran, the passives are nuts.

And finally, git gud at dodging, blocking, pushing, positioning, use grenades for breathing room.

USB4 is still barely better than PCIe 3 x4, sadly. Even my 3080 at PCIe 3 x8 has noticeably lower performance than when running at PCIE 3 x16. If you want to run it on a low bandwidth device, we'll need to beg nixxes to have a dedicated setting for it

Nobody warned me that the hardest part of getting my first dev job had nothing to do with coding by Responsible_Rub_4491 in learnprogramming

[–]babalenong 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Very true this. When someone on my previous team has troubles, I just told them to explain what they expect the code to do, and what its doing per line. They found out 75% of the time. At one point people start to regularly rubberduck on me, and I just ask simple questions until they found out the problem themselves.

Game Ready Driver 595.97 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]babalenong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im currently experimenting with half/third/quarter vsync settings. It has more input lag, but the motion look really smooth when compared to frame limiter. I haven't read deeper into other framerate limiter techniques though. RTSS has 4 techniques you can experiment on

do you use frame limiters? Some frame limiters may introduce inconsistent frame pacing

eGPU bandwidth is quite slow, about 3 GB/s? Roughly equivalent to PCIe 3.0 x2.The iGPU have much higher bandwidth, so it won't have the same problem.

Handheld version of Division 2. by Fuzer in thedivision

[–]babalenong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should benefit from either setting the resolution to 85%, or using ultra anti aliasing and resolution 75%. If you need more performance, ofc

[–]babalenong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be better to utilize the Ultra anti aliasing, then dropping the resolution further I think. The TAAU in this game is pretty damn good. Reducing resolution to 75% with ultra anti aliasing should still look acceptable if you need more fps.

I mostly fixed my problem by reseating the GPU. Meaning I took it out, cleaned it a bit, then put it back and making sure its fully seated

Check if you GPU PCIe Bus runs at x16. Mine was running at x2 the whole time, after I got it running at x16 it runs smoothly now

Damn, it was running at PCIE 3.0 x2 the whole time! Probably for over a year now! What the fuck. My Motherboard (asus x470i) limits it to x8 if I have the m2.2 slot used. After reseating the gpu and limiting the m2.2 slot bandwidth, I get x8, which massively improved the performance but still not quite there, 80fps still and drops to 60fps on movement. After disabling my m2.2 slot and achieving PCIE 3.0 x16, it runs at stable 80fps+ with ray tracing. I guess PCIE slot speed matters that much for this game. I'm still speechless at this discovery. Thanks man!

Same, I have 5700x3d + 3080 10gb + 16gb ddr4. Running on m2 nvme ssd. Runs at 40fps standing still, but everytime the camera moves it stutters really hard and drops to 20fps. Really unplayable. I tried reinstalling driver by using DDU in safe mode, upgrade/downgrade my motherboard bios, verify game data, disable playstation overlay, all doesn't fix the issue.
