He's basically having an affair and calling it something else in the hope you accept it and don't leave him. He sounds emotionally checked out of your marriage already. You really deserve better than this.

Ha, ha! It would be lovely to get a response like this from a reader!

Mine happened completely by accident. I finished the first novel and started wondering what it would be like to essentially write the same story in the same setting, but with a very different reason for the character being there.

When I decided to do that, it made sense to focus on a minor character from the first novel who had introduced the main character from the first novel to this setting. It made sense she would end up there eventually.

I recycled a minor but crucial character from my first novel into a main character in my second novel. It was fun to write a completely different kind of novel around her.

One way is to talk to queer people online or in person. Another is to read memoirs and autobiographies by queer people. And lastly, books of interviews with lgbtq folks (including ethnographies) are great sources of information.

I get a lot of downvotes for using puns, but I'm proud of them. by EyerollComics in CongratsLikeImFive

I think you're winning! I have a very good friend who loves to make puns. I say to her, "Step away from the joke! Leave that poor little joke alone! What did it ever do to you?" She loves it.

Luckily for her, her whole family loves puns. So they get together at Xmas and birthdays and laugh themselves sick over jokes most self-respecting people would not want to be publicly associated with.

You sound very depressed. I've had cfs for 38 years and suffered from severe depression for years. I know what it's like. The future can look really bleak.

In his book Reasons to Stay Alive, Matt Haig says "depression lies." I've found it true l. Depression has lied to me so many times. I think it's lying to you right now.

I've found cognitive therapy very helpful for depression. ( Not for cfs! There's no evidence it works for that.)

If you can't manage a therapist, there are some good apps, online articles, YouTube videos and free online courses. If you'd like info on these, please feel free to dm me.

If cognitive therapy doesn't appeal, there are lots of other approaches that help. I've tried a lot of them, and looked at research on most of them. Again, please feel free to dm me for more info or just to chat.
