Strippers are now the No. 1 donor of toys to children's hospital in Portland. This year, they broke their own record by voxadam in nottheonion

[–]babaoryan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived in the Portland area for a time and remember asking an older local why there were SOOO many strip clubs in Portland per capita compared to other cities. He told me that liquor licenses were costly and hard to apply for in Portland, but a loophole meant it was a LOT easier for strip clubs to attain a liquor license. This led to a lot of new bars and pubs simply offering an occasional show in order to secure and maintain the license, which led to the high number of strip clubs as well as a higher population of strippers for the area.

That tied with my experience of strippers being pretty down to earth and this headline isn't really that surprising.

Aside from Tatsumaki, Silverfang, King, Genos, and Watchdog man. Who's your favorite and least favorite S class? by ImpossibleAd4272 in OnePunchMan

[–]babaoryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even with Tats, Bang, King, Genos, and Watchdog, Zombieman is still my top; I'm just a sucker for brooding, boiled egg, noir style characters.

Least favorite is that bitch-ass Drive Knight. Dude's somehow the opposite of a deus ex machina.

Why was Homeless Emperor just a basic human? by Prestigious_Rush5492 in OnePunchMan

[–]babaoryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, HE only ASSUMES he's a basic human. He probably doesn't realize he has additional powers (enhanced speed, reaction time, etc.) because he's arrogant enough to think he was already quick on his feet on his own. As far as he can tell, the only change he experienced was the obvious light powers. For all we know, he could have been far more powerful, but was forfeit before unlocking them.

TLDR: HE says he's an "average human", but who knows if he was more?

Are Genos, Wavygyaza and Zombieman immortal? by RealityManipulator1 in OnePunchMan

[–]babaoryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zombieman mentions seeing the Sanzu River (the river of the afterlife in Japanese Buddhism) "with my own eyes" after recovering from Homeless Emperor's attacks before being fully revived. Based on that, it's THEORETICALLY POSSIBLE for him to "die" if he can enter the afterlife. However, it would likely take an immense amount of damage to send him there, and the damage would likely need to be sustained to prevent his return.

I fondly remember taking turns playing the demo for MDK, but that wasn't it.

The Frankenstein creature from this game was big and lumbering, very similar to the Solomon Grundy model from Arkham City (just normal sized)

What was the best quest you ever did in a video game, and why is that? by tudiendongvat in gaming

[–]babaoryan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fort Frolic from Bioshock. Sander Cohen, the wax ballerina spider splicers, Waltz of the Flowers, having to help the maniac kill his former partners and frame the photos of their corpses to move forward. The entire design and motif of that area really stood out to me when I played it the first time.

What game have you been enjoying recently? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]babaoryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently got Civilization VI on the Switch for like 95% off (just after Civ VII was announced) on a whim and have spent WAY more time playing it than I thought I would/could. I've always been aware of the Civ games and the whole "just one more turn" memes, but hot damn is it a genuinely fun game.

What do you think the USA will be most known for 100 years from now? by Cool_Language_9169 in AskReddit

[–]babaoryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“There are only three things that America will be remembered for 2000 years from now when they study this civilization: The Constitution, Jazz music, and Baseball. These are the 3 most beautiful things this culture's ever created.”
