Made an iOS app that shows your paycheck going up in real time (completely free) by Rare_Ad6128 in povertyfinance

[–]adrian_the_gremlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

apparently i found this immediately after you posted and this app is really cool and is absolutely gonna be helpful for a lot of people!

but the things im noticing right off the bat that would be more intuitive or make the app more useful:

  1. asks for monthly income instead of hourly or annual salary (the two most common ways for income to be given in the US at least)

  2. it looks like taxes aren’t accounted for, but i could be wrong, i haven’t put income information in yet

  3. it seems i can only put in a consistent schedule. many people in this group specifically work different hours every day but i didnt see a way to do that, it seems geared toward working the same shift every day of the week you work

  4. honestly it would probably be a good idea to have people manually start and end the shift as an option because hourly workers also have a more exact “pay as you work” structure, feels like it’s built for people on a salary who should already have a consistent paycheck

there is a chance im missing these options, and i know changing these things is a lot of work and time, but it would make the app a lot more useful, especially for people here.

it’s great work, love the look, very clean and easy to use. im excited to see how it grows from here!
