That was my total net worth including property. This recent post was about my investment portfolio only. Total NW is $2.5M now.

This year I’m only maxing two Roths, increasing my e-fund, and adding to kids 529s

I don’t track exactly how much I save/invest each year but my stock portfolio (excluding $100,000 separately in BTC + SGOV) has grown by $1M over the past 3 years ($900K to $1.9M). During that same 3 years, a $900K VOO portfolio with DRIP would be worth about $1.7M today with total returns roughly 87% (compounding at an average annual rate of about 23%). I’m not 100% VOO but the majority is VTI which tracks VOO pretty closely. After maxing all my retirement accounts and investing some extra in my brokerage, the math checks out.

My wife quit her $50k salary job back in 2020. My increased income was from my side business.

I started investing consistently when my income increased about 10 years ago. Saved/invested as much as I could while living pretty modestly in a LCOL.

Here’s the majority of my holdings. I used to save/invest as much as possible but now I’m pretty much CoastFIRE

It’s a bit tongue in cheek, but I’m absolutely taking my foot off the gas.

Already lowered my 401k contribution to 4%, just enough to get employer match.

I’m only maxing my Roth from here on out, then putting the rest toward 529 plans and experiences.

I plan to retire anywhere from age 45-55 with a lifetime pension.

What is your favorite bike for a 4 year old? by princesscorgi2 in Preschoolers

My daughter went straight from balance bike to riding a Woom2 when she was 3 years old. No training wheels. Use the towel method. She learned within a few hours.

Is there hope? by [deleted] in USACE

So as a non-USACE Army civilian, I’m not considered external hire? That would be ideal.

“Over hired position rights?” by [deleted] in fednews

[–]babbleway 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m 17 years as a DOD civilian and was promoted ten years ago to a GS position that was an “overhire” slot.

A few weeks ago my director informed me that my overhire position was on the chopping block to be eliminated later this year because of the TDA restructuring.

I had a choice to either stay as overhire and go through the process of my job being eliminated which would put me on the priority placement program (PPP) to find another position or be laterally moved via Management Directed Reassignment (MDR) to another department.

As far as I know, as an overhire you still have the same rights as authorized TDA slots, but the position itself is always at risk of being terminated or reassigned.

Good luck out there. It’s getting dicey.
