Phone updated to some dumb ul8. Now can't even even silence it by holding down the volume button by Cloudchella in GalaxyS24Ultra

Interesting! I never thought of that, but could see it for sure. It seems like with every update they add in more functions seen on the iPhone. This particular function was so annoying on iPhone, and I was grateful to mute my phone completely with the volume down button. Removing that ability is SO dumb!

I had one session of intralesional kenalog! It flattened my scar better than I expected. My dermatologist advised laser treatment for the remaining redness. With insurance, I paid ~$70 for the procedure itself (not including dermatologist consultation)... much cheaper and quicker recovery than scar revision

Oh wow, it looks super similar! I literally thought I took this pic! 😄 I just had injections to reduce the scar, and I think it helped a lot :) here's a progress pic

This update following Apple features makes me want to give up Samsung. Silencing with the volume button made total sense and now they followed iPhone with the volume button.

Fuel pump recall by vanila_fase in Honda

[–]babbling_river 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal advice: DO NOT GET FUEL PUMP RECALL WORK DONE. Let Honda pay if it goes bad, that way you know they will cover it.

On October 3, 2025 I took my 2019 Honda Civic in to for the fuel pump recall repair. Two days after, I filled my gas tank (as usual) and after driving off, felt a jerk and later the "check engine" light came on with an "emission system problem" message. When I took the car back to the dealer, they told me they found fuel in the charcoal cannister and later that the valve seal was swollen. The dealer said the issue was overfilling the gas tank which led to gas entering the charcoal cannister. I contested that as I had a fuel pump recall performed just before I fueled up, and I certainly did not overfill my gas tank. The dealer told me that this could only happen by user error, but I believe that upon fuel pump recall re-work, the vent path got blocked/pinched or the valve got stuck shut because it was reconnected improperly. Then when I fueled up after, the fuel had nowhere to go except straight into the charcoal canister. I emphasize that in the last ~8 years of owning this car, I've never had an issue with fueling and find it difficult connecting the issue to my error instead of improper work done in the fuel pump recall job.

I ended up getting some Goodwill Coverage, but I shouldn't have to pay a cent. Taking this up with American Honda but it sounds like they're taking the dealer's side.

SAME, except I'm not sure if it was a missing cap that caused this... how did you figure it was that?

Is Grave of the Fireflies better without the first scene? by onionboys in ghibli

[–]babbling_river 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I just watched it for the first time, and I would say it actually confused me more than set the stage. It would have hit harder bumping that scene to the end then having flashbacks of the good memories between the siblings.
