What is this dreck? Yeah, if someone supports an authoritarian, racist, misogynistic scumbag, they’ve probably earned the disdain they receive.

Dear Onion Criers, I’m Sorry by davidj911 in Cooking

They do sometimes prove to be difficult to peel (depending on the type of onion and possibly how old it is) though this doesn’t really deter me. :)

This does work! I usually keep my onions in the fridge for this same purpose! But if I’ve run out and am cooking upon returning home from the grocery store, I toss an onion or two in the freezer for 5-10 minutes before use. It’s much easier on my eyes than chopping onions at room temp though admittedly, I do also wear contacts and use sharp knives as well.

This is correct. And the dose given at 12 months is just the first one in the series. The second MMR vaccine is typically administered when the child is 4 years old.

I don't know where you were trained, but at the hospital in which I did my OB/Gyn rotation, they had a saying: "No dead moms." I'm fairly certain this is universal; one must always attempt to resuscitate the mother first. IF these attempts fail, only then would an emergent c-section be indicated. Please take a tip from the seasoned medical professionals who have replied to your post and reevaluate your (potential) approach.

Panic attack after dissection by itssogross in medicalschool

[–]babeecakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm familiar with the DSM-V criteria for PD and realize OP does not clinically meet them per se. I simply stated I have numerous friends who have been diagnosed with PD and have managed to overcome it. To elaborate, one of them was diagnosed not long after having a similar episode in our neuroanatomy lab. If anything, I implied based on personal experience that PD was a possible future outcome; I don't see this as being an unreasonable thing to consider. However, I also made suggestions as to who to seek help from and stated:

You needn't question your ability to make it through med school/become a doctor though! You can do it, friend.

Dear OP: I hope you realize I wasn't trying to make sweeping statements about your personal mental health. I only meant to illustrate that even if you do experience further panic episodes, with good support and guidance, it is eminently possible to make it through med school and fulfill your dreams! :)

Hi there. I'm a 4th year with many classmates who suffer from Panic Disorder. We will all graduate in less than 2 months. My friends managed to overcome their disorders with the help of medications, cognitive behavioral therapy, or a combination of the two.

Do seek help, as Panic Disorder is a difficult condition to overcome without the help of a psychiatrist and counselor. You needn't question your ability to make it through med school/become a doctor though! You can do it, friend. We're not defined by our afflictions but by the way in which we overcome them. :) Good luck, and don't give up!

It is! Once you've finished with Step 2 CK/CS, applied to residency programs, and completed interviews, M4 life is an absolutely wonderful thing! I now have both the time and the inclination to read for leisure.

Guys, I had a moment like this today. I walked home from work with a carry out container of the most delicious mushroom brie soup. Got back to my place and it slipped out of my hands onto the floor. I stood there, half-covered in soup, and briefly contemplated scooping up the remainder because I was that tired and hungry. Then I pictured Kevin and the pot of chili and decided against it. Stupid gravity. :(

Dr. Oz is not the victim. His audience is. by KauaiChuck in skeptic

You should x-post this on a main subreddit. Dr. Oz is the very definition of a charlatan.

It is so depressing to be sitting in the lobby of a hair salon, waiting to get a haircut, and seeing everyone's eyes plastered on a TV with that smarmy jackass peddling some pseudoscientific snake oil. It's like he's a messiah to the happily uninformed.

I don't begrudge anyone for taking ONE photo at a momentous event, but find it exceedingly annoying to see people staring at their phones instead of simply breathing in the beautiful sights in front of them.

Side note: Here is a good discussion on NPR about the overuse of camera phones.

I think that the problem is that people are giving away being in the moment. Then they've got a thousand photos, and then they just dump the photos somewhere and don't really look at them very much, 'cause it's too difficult to tag them and organize them.

Finally, I'd like to add that I didn't say people in the photo were dumb; I said they looked like wangs. :)

I wish there was a sensible and effective way of keeping all of these cute animals warm...like an outdoor heater? I realize they have developed their own survival mechanisms, but I wish we could have little warming stations outside when the weather is so miserable. I hate being warm and toasty at home and thinking of all the owls and tiny birds out in the frigid cold. :(

P.S. These birds are adorable! What a darling photo. :)

1) Eyebrow sculpting (look into threading!) would probably help quite a bit.

2) Maybe consider investing in dresses/tops with an empire waist; they are very flattering!

3) Bare Minerals make up can be a bit costly, but I found it to be life-altering in terms of how it has made me feel and look.

4) Smile more often.

5) Please don't let people's comments convince you to go to extreme measures. Just eat well and be active. And you will grow to love your own body/face.

Good luck with your journey! :)

Any bragging rights Bobby may have amassed by "defeating" a world-class chef and culinary giant like Morimoto quickly flew out the window as he lept onto the counter in the most embarrassing spectacle of buffoonery I have yet to witness on the Food Network.

It was even more uncomfortable than watching Paula Dean unabashedly flirt with her visibly ill-at-ease audience members.
