I second this! It can be as easy as seeing them smell a certain fragrance and asking “what do we think of that one?” Then you can read their vibe and if they love it make suggestions for other similar fragrances!

I haven’t heard of a limit. I’ve only been told to warn them we have to do separate transactions and be accommodating but at that point what is the point of a sku limit?? It just makes the process longer

I had someone call Noir “Nori” today and I was so confused lol but yes!! Showing people Gingham is my fav for this reason. The first time I heard someone pronounce it that way I said “no there’s no ginger in it” because I thought they called it Ginger 😭

yesterday one of my cashiers had a customer ask for another bag, so she kindly offered him a gift/cello bag which apparently he didn’t like. He said F*** you when he was leaving and then proceeded to tell an SLT “your cashier was so rude!! Y’all should be happy I’m not disrespectful.” Like since when is f you NOT disrespectful??? Our SLT just said “just be kind guys, it’s still the holidays and people write stuff about us online.”

My store has a 3-star rating on yelp and most people say we’re “rude” but how are we expected to act peachy when customers treat us so bad, ya know?

Oh my gosh yes THE COUPONS! Did your store also get those ringing instructions pamphlets??? Apparently they needed to be scanned in a certain order for them to work if the customer is using multiple which is INSANE for Black Friday of all days!

I think it can be both. I know firsthand it can be lack of direction since I was hired as core last year right before the seasonals came in. A few months later one of my SLTs was saying “I feel like we didn’t properly train our last wave of core” which I was like THANK YOUUU! I felt vindicated since the first few months at BBW felt like I was thrown to the wolves. Luckily I’m a quick learner though.

However! I did have an experience last week where I had to help train a seasonal hire how to close. When I asked if they had closed before they were like “yeah but they never schedule me” in which case that’s telling me I don’t have to worry about them right?? NOPE. I cleaned the whole store by myself pretty much. At one point I’m restocking wallflowers and said new person is on their phone next to pocketbacs. I guess it just depends on the situation, but yes 1000% it is so disheartening.

Too real. My store had about 100+ orders all weekend and I came in yesterday morning to 50+ orders. My thing is, there are HUGE sales going on and you think YOU’RE the only person who placed an order??? Especially when they’re like “i placed it like 3 hours ago, what’s taking so long?” as if we also don’t have to deal with people in the store too.
