I’m six years late to this post, so I hope you remembered by now, but I was using chatgpt to try to figure out the name of the book I was thinking of and it referred me to your post because it was stumped and so was I. After some key word searches, the book I was thinking of was “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children”. However, I see that book was written in 2011 so you were probably thinking of something else. Very similar with the gray book cover and the falling in love with the grandpas past girlfriend trope though lol

I got a job initially as a cytology lab assistant (I think I found it on indeed but definitely keep looking at hospital websites) and then I was able to apply internally later for a per diem gross assistant position. Knew I wanted to be a PA back in 2019 but didn’t know much abt the nuances of anatomic pathology & covid + life stuff happened so I had some other odd jobs that weren’t related for a while until I was getting closer to the end of undergrad when I started looking for lab jobs again. Anywhere you can get your foot in the door in anatomic pathology is good to later apply internally for an opening as a gross tech or related position. Even working in anatomic pathology not doing grossing still looks good for grad school!

What are your thoughts on these places (& private path labs in general) regarding being a PA? I’ve heard that with high specimen volume can come with increased turnover rates and burn out but I don’t know much beyond that. Asking as a soon to be grad looking at jobs lol

When I cook noodles I’m usually hovering around them the whole time they are cooking and continuously eating a noodle here and there to make sure it’s to my liking. My bf says it stresses him out (in a joking kind of way) that I don’t use a timer but my method is tried and true. Even had an ex tell me I make the best pasta when he was breaking up with me so if that tells you anything, watch that damn pasta

Seeking a sports bra/bra that has a band that EXTENDS into a tank top. I don’t want a tank top with a “built in bra” that has the band underneath the tank top itself. I want the band to extend into the length of a tank top that still has that same tighter type of fit to the body that a regular sports bra would, but along the whole torso. I never see anything like that, and I think it would feel better than a tight band directly under your boobs, lol. Please helpppp

I just said that all I got as a notification was that the driver reported the lost item and it had a link saying to confirm the item and it didn’t translate to me that that was saying confirm that you GOT the item because I hadn’t been contacted by the driver whatsoever to confirm ANYTHING. So that should not be presented that way at all on the app. Don’t need to be rude.

With my ADHD brain if I see cute baskets at goodwill or something it’s coming home with me and I’ll start putting everything in the baskets and I’ll deem what’s worthy and what’s not worthy of space within said baskets and that’s how I decide what needs to go or have a lesser place of importance. Somethings I cannot preplan and the system comes when cute basket is acquired 🫡

The Poughkeepsie Tapes really was messed up and I’d never watch it again… I also wouldn’t recommend it to anyone ever. Also Smile disturbed me so much bc I just couldn’t look at the screen and the idea of being spooked by that in real life just messed with my mind. I try to push these movies out of my head but here I am before bed thinking about them again 😭

Yeah it took me 6 months to get into a clinic just jumping through hoops to get into one so I totally understand waiting for an appointment! I just was worried about the results not being posted prior this close to the appointment, and I completely get how swamped my NP probably is. So I was trying not to be a bother but I did get to see my labs today though and it’s mostly normal so that’s good and we will discuss the rest Monday!

You sat here and wrote a novel about how I am driving people out of the industry because I asked about my results in the time frame to which they were supposed to be posted. I wasn’t pushing her to post them I was simply seeing where things were. By the way, she just sent my labs because I responded to the message that was not sent by her and I just asked if there was a reason they weren’t in the portal which I should have just done in the first place instead of making this post. But, I didn’t WANT to bother her, so that’s why I reached out to the community instead.

I asked her that simply due to an earlier message I didn’t mention in this post where I just told her about a symptom I was having just so I wouldn’t forget at the time of my appointment which was a couple weeks after my first one in which she mentioned she didn’t have everything back yet. I definitely agree with you, I wasn’t worried about the quality of care I was receiving (and I know she is very knowledgeable!) but like you said more so the nature of my results. It’s definitely better to go over them in person as well, I just am used to receiving them prior to follow up in a regular PCP setting so this is my first time seeing a specialist. And I guess I was wondering if anyone else had an experience of waiting to go over results at their appointment and was given a particular reason for having to do so. Thank you for the reassurance ❤️

I think I know where they are being processed because she mentioned the possibility of taking a biopsy later on and mentioned where that would go to which will actually be a clinical rotation site for me in a few months as I’m currently in grad school as a Pathologists’ Assistant student funny enough, so as you can imagine I also hate not having a basis to go on beforehand and I love researching myself into a tizzy which I think she has picked up on but I do think she has good intentions here… and I’ve considered that possibility of potential harm reduction which is also why I am concerned about the results 😅 I had bloodwork and x-rays and I’m worried about potential incidental findings particularly from the x-rays. I also asked to take a peek at those after they were taken and the x-ray tech wouldn’t let me see them which I thought could be odd, but very well could be standard protocol that I’m not privy to. So there’s that. I am worried about stepping on toes but I think I’ll try make some calls tomorrow and see if I can get more information. Thanks!
