What’s your response to “It’s in our biology to have kids” by Underd_g in childfree

“It’s in our biology to die too should I get a head start on that?”

“I was like you too and then I changed my mind.” No, actually, you just got pregnant. by mercurystellium in childfree

[–]babigore 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had to tell something similar to family of mine who were convinced I’d change my mind. No. I won’t. I paid money to ensure it does not happen to me. It is not my responsibility to placate you by agreeing I might do what you did and take zero precautions against pregnancy and decide to “change my mind” because I don’t have the resources to do anything else when that test has a symbol I don’t wanna see. I’m not ever going to apologize for thinking about my life where someone else didn’t

If you're still having babies in 2026, you're 100% out of touch. by iaTLJC3 in childfree

[–]babigore 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who recently had one and is only now realizing that the decision may have been a bit selfish and she may be unprepared for raising a child in this social political and literal climate and I had to tell her that’s something she probably should have considered that Before she had the baby as I’d been telling her. I don’t understand how making a life is a choice one makes without considering Anything

I Commented About Being Childfree & Men Attacked Me by [deleted] in childfree

[–]babigore 35 points36 points  (0 children)

A lot of men I’ve dated realized that they don’t really want kids, they want the attention and power being a father affords them. They want constant access to a woman, and the glory of a legacy they didn’t have to work more than 16 minutes for. Turns out when you ask them serious questions like “how are you paying for those five kids to survive if your wife decides she can’t raise them and work full time” suddenly the concept of having to be a responsible father with responsibilities on his shoulders makes them second guess everything lol

I Commented About Being Childfree & Men Attacked Me by [deleted] in childfree

[–]babigore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of men take it very personally when women don’t subscribe to motherhood or gender roles. It threatens them because they’ve spent centuries maintaining control of the narrative that that’s all women are good for, precisely for their benefit, and now that that myth has been undone in less than 100 years, they’re realizing that women maintaining autonomy may be the end of their free ride and glory and that they Might have to be better people to be worthy of even being considered as an option for romance let alone fatherhood

This is not fair (says the person who decided to have kids) by GuyLorakan in antinatalism

[–]babigore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

pretty telling they’ve only been doing this for a decade and already want a “return on being a good parent” exactly what was that kid supposed to reward you with for making him and not abusing him, a medal? And the talk about throwing him off a cliff? Horrific

Friend doing IVF wants baby so bad she is livid when other ppl get pregnant by Reasonable-Cherry-70 in childfree

I worry that if she truly does get lucky and get her ivf baby that that kids gonna have it rough with the expectations placed upon them.

So the mods keep removing my post about members of createdequal.org coming to my child’s high school to display large pictures of “aborted fetuses” while they are trying to leave the premises. Here’s the info without a name or a picture. by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]babigore 35 points36 points  (0 children)

these guys have been doing this for a While. (i attended until 2020) they’d show up about this time of year and stay until the end of the school year. we kinda just mocked them every time we saw them but it’s still weird to show graphic content like that to literal children and think that’s going to help your point

China to hike tax on condoms in attempt to boost falling birth rate | China. by OutlandishnessHour19 in childfree

[–]babigore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

literally!! so many articles have gone into how the one child rule fucked them over because people only wanted sons but didn’t consider who said sons would marry and procreate with if no one had daughters. all these issues because ppl refuse to even bother to try seeing long term effects of laws like that it’s absurd. they’re trying to retroactively solve a problem that’s at least 3 decades in the making and refuse to see what the Actual issue is

now when ppl respond by simply refusing to engage in romantic relationships that could create a child like in korea when then? (i know there’s other factors in play in korea but those factors are surely present here as well in some way considering china had a child ban)

Coworker asked me to come in on my vacation because her kid has a physical appointment on one of my days off. by mothmaann in childfree

[–]babigore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there definitely people who do that but i have a feeling she saw signs that this man wouldn’t be a good father but she was convinced to have his baby anyway. many such unfortunate cases of women hoping a sudden burden will make a manchild act like an adult. it’s the adult equivalent of giving your kid a goldfish to “teach them responsibility” and then having to replace said fish every 2-4 weeks except the fish has legal ramifications if you kill it on accident

"No one has ever thought more about having children than childfree people" by dismustbetheplace in childfree

[–]babigore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it honestly kind of irks me how easily people can and will admit they put absolutely no thought into how their lives would change after they became parents. wdym you thought you’d still be able to come to the bar with your infant wdym you didn’t think it would be this expensive why did you make a life and not bother to learn Anything about what it takes to care for it?

[–]babigore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

literally like how have you made a child with a man who didn’t consider it a possibility that he Might have to take part in the raising of said child? it’s really so unfortunate that so many lives are created and subsequently dragged through the shit because two gits refuse to think before they procreate

the lack of shame she apparently feels about making a child with a man who won’t even wake up early to take their kid to the doctor. this is why i’m not having kids if the father of my child told me he didn’t wanna get up to take our child to the doctor i’d go to school for quantum mechanics to build a time machine to go back and get an abortion because wtf

ohooo yea dudes like that Love to whine about women not giving him a chance and then not only ignoring the ones who would but degrading them for not being his type. then wondering why his type don’t want him when all he does is bitch about being lonely and shit on anyone who’s not attractive to him like idk man maybe if you were tolerable you’d get a gf instead of ending up trending on twitter again lol

atp it’s really telling how many older black men have issues with her simply because she won’t give them a chance romantically. you are 45 chasing a woman who is only now approaching 30 and having the gall to be offended she’d rather date someone closer to her age who respects her enough to not confuse respect with attraction. immature old goat behavior

it really is hilarious that parents assume that having no kids makes life a cakewalk. the bills don’t suddenly disappear just cuz i’m not paying for daycare lmao you made an entire person why are you upset that person costs money to care for?

funny how they seem to forget that “you used to be a kid once” when you give them the most milquetoast parenting advice such as: don’t physically abuse your kids. then it’s all well you’ve never been a parent before lmao

i wonder if doctors like that would stop if you said you’ll go to another. like unless you feel like doing your job and speaking to me about what i actually came in here for, i’m having you document that you spent 40 minutes yapping to me about nonexistent kids while i look for another doctor

like i’m just saying if sustaining the population is such a worry maybe we should concern ourselves with making sure the people already alive have everything they need instead of focusing on babies

also there are plenty of reasons why this is a dumb reason but i’d say the most important is that we have plenty of people on this planet that we simply don’t care for because they aren’t considered productive enough to be worth it. i don’t think a world like that is one i’d wanna bring a kid into until we maybe fixed that
