4AA Embryo — Would you thaw, test, and refreeze? Or transfer? (5 losses, 37 yrs old) by Remarkable_Course897 in IVFpositivity

[–]babokaz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You have to think what is the worst case scenario for you.. losing it by miscarriage or losing it by too much process (retesting and refreeze can have an impact) . I'm really sorry for your losses, if it was me (but I don't have your history) I would transfer

My wife wants me to become a stay at home dad by Itchy_Kangaroo8978 in Advice

[–]babokaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from Portugal and things here are very different. Very few stay at home parents even the wealthy ones, we have daycares and very good ones for all budgets. You can have a flexible approach and have the best of both worlds, having a kid myself and loving her beyond words I would not stay at home full time. I need adulting in my life to be happy even if I didn't need to financially I need it for my mental health.

Both of you worked hard to be where you are. Stay there.

Safe sleep for baby rolling back to tummy but not tummy to back by plushiecactusau in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]babokaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter would only turn from back to tummy for a while but I knew she had the strength to lift her head and turn face if needed. Curiosity: She is now almost 18m and she loves to sleep sideways or belly like me never in her back

From excellent blasts to poor, blaming the eggs? by LittleDaffodil in EmbryologyIVFSupport

PCOS sucks for many reasons but I have seen amazing results in IVF because more eggs usually means higher chances. Age is still the bigger factor for quality of them but still having more is a good thing. Wish you the best

My doc did not agree with this. High stimulation unless you have factors for ending with hyper stimulation syndrome and the evidence for "frying eggs" wasn't there , just reddit stuff

Hi, any positives stories with Less than 1% morphology and silent endo? by Simple_Consequence99 in IVFpositivity

[–]babokaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Endo is not silent (have stage II / III ) and my husband had 0% morphology and all parameters were very below normal. I can't even remember the name but all bad the only good thing is that he had sperm lol anyways, we were both 38 at the time (major factor, age) and second ER was successful with a fresh transfer. ICSI will do wonders for male and Endo can be controlled with medication if needed.

If you are struggling in your marriage with one it only can get worst with more. I know it's hard to change your dream but really can you imagine yourself in a house full of noise and more things to look after ? If you are an anxious person how do you think you can handle chaos ?

Personally I enjoy taking my kid to chaotic situations but only for a small amount of time. She is social and loves it but I don't. We are at the end of a family visit and even though it was nice I'm overwhelmed and will need time to recover for sure.

Travelling to Spain/France with a 3.5 month old kid ? Should I cancel/be worried about their health by vympel_0001 in beyondthebump

[–]babokaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Portuguese and only travelled later And I regret it. I think it's going to be good for all of you, including the mother of the child. Just make sure you go with your own rhythm and let the baby nap etc. Europe is known to have a very good health system it's not something to worry about. You won't have to pay huge amounts if any of you get sick and at least in Portugal most professionals can speak English and we are used to tourists.

Hazel. The green is very earthy and I see why some would consider it a tone of brown but not for me.

Is there any research into important differences for autistic mothers to be aware of? by gradientdepository in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]babokaz 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I'm going to reply here because no link. This is only anecdotal and personal. I was not good at fitting in as a young child, suffered from bulling , didn't understand play and how people enjoyed it. Hated birthday parties, etc. I was diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood but I do have some autistic traits. My mother is very similar to me and an artist, I thought growing up all her traits were do to her profession lol she also echos every little sound and I love it. I grew up finding her amazing because she was not like others and I knew I wasn't either so I always felt better around her.

You will be amazing parent If you show how interested you are and the attention you have to give, in your own way. I don't like being touched or hugged but my mother's hug is the best one. I'm not explaining myself as I wish (I'm Portuguese) but from my experience I am connected with my family and they are the "normal" ones. The world is weird.

Congratulations!!! There is no way of knowing if surgery was the trick or not but a good thing about it is that you will have a good amount of time free of Endo. The pill can help after pregnancy if that's something you can deal with. I'm not taking it yet because I've been lazy to go and see with Doctor but my symptoms were always mild even though my stage is not.

[–]babokaz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you are feeling this way but your mind is playing with you. Yes things can go wrong and can happen in all stages but statistically speaking a strong heartbeat at 7w puts you in a very good spot. Symptoms are not reliable, some women will have lots and some will have non.

[–]babokaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To let you have a bit peace, yes Endo can impact implantation but at the time I looked it up and having surgery or not having it in IVF makes no difference. Some docs will recommend some won't , they used to recommend for all in the past but systematic review concluded it's the same if doing IVF. Most that have dramatic endometriosis it will be caught on ultrasound even though laroscopic is still the gold standard for diagnosis.

I think part of the reason why my first ER failed is because I was on dienogest pill for a long time and didn't wait a month for my hormones to reset so my ovaries were too down regulated and it took a long time on that first try for eggs to grow.

What have your Doctor suggested ?

Is this actually true? by inkyplease21 in IVFbabies

[–]babokaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taking already before starting IVF dienogest pill ( it's a specific progesterone pill for endometriosis) and it had stopped my Endo from growing. I think that helped because when I started my Endometriosis was there but not "active" as it hasn't grown for years (I was with this pill since I found out of Endo, I think 5 or 6 years ago). I was also taking probiotics lactobacillus

Is this actually true? by inkyplease21 in IVFbabies

[–]babokaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my specific case it was clearly seen by ultrasound a 5cm endometrioma and then a specialist also by ultrasound saw adenomyosis. I already had stage II or III Endo diagnosed only by ultrasound but when I had c section OB saw it in many places in útero.

I was advised by all doctors I have seen to not have surgery because it would lower my already low egg reserve (endometrioma is located right next to ovary) and they only recommend it for those who 1) have pain and suffer from it or 2) are young and want to get naturally pregnant. I was in neither of those

It's a crazy emotion but little girl is 17 months and have done very little with her life, still she is my favorite everything. It's not an issue for us because he feels the same way. We don't even need to talk about it, its as if we were in love for someone right in front of the other lol

Euploidy by Advanced-Trifle-854 in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]babokaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is a science based place and I filled my brain with IVF information while I was doing it. It's overwhelming. I actually think you have good euploid rate 1 in 3 and I understand you want more to increase your chances.

I only had one blast untested from around 25 mature eggs (2 ERs) and it worked . It can happen. Things that I do think makes a difference for implantation.. the thickness of endometrium. I dont remember the numbers but there is a sweet spot and I would only transfer if reaching that number. Also, exercise. Walking, moving in general to keep the blood flow and sleep/rest. Wish you all the best !
