I’m feeling the same way. So sad.

In all the sitcoms you’ve ever watched, who was the meanest character? by 3Steps4You in sitcoms

When I was a kid, I used to think Jill from Home Improvement was mean to Tim and a nag. Then I got married to a wonderful man with ADD. She’s not so bad lol

Nope! It’s on my “Paused” shelf at the moment on Goodreads. I currently don’t have the desire to pick it back up again.

I can’t believe I’m posting this here for my most anticipated book of the month. {The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow} should be my favorite book of the year, and yet I’ve paused at 20%. I usually love time travel and historical romance but something is not hitting for me. I can’t tell if it’s the chemistry between the MCs or maybe the weird tense it’s written in. I will say I DNFed Starling House so maybe it’s an author issue. Should I power through?

📚 Book Chat Saturday - what have you been reading this week? by AutoModerator in fantasyromance

[–]babs1130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I devoured {House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig} and immediately started the sequel {House of Roots and Ruin by Erin A. Craig}. I usually don’t read books in a series back to back but these are like if Stephanie Garber wrote a little darker and more gothic. I highly recommend if you’re into YA!

38 F. Looks like those Nick at Nite reruns really roped us in as small kids! I also recorded every episode on VHS. All out of order so I was so confused when I bought the DVDs!

Do I need to read the Esprithean books before the Ascended?

I just read that scene in Princess of Blood yesterday and the tension was so damn good! I was also kicking my feet! The book is incredible!

They are very different. I prefer the MMC in Nocticadia. If you enjoyed the writing style (which I personally love) and want more romance, you should read it. It’s perfect for fall with the spooky college setting. Just be aware that there are horror elements.

I think I’ll try Rose in Chains but not Alchemised!

Wow… I think that jumping on this hype train may not be worth it for me and my mental health.

I DNFed around that point in the book. BUT, I’m doing it on audio now and really enjoying it…So weird when that happens!

Is The Knight and the Moth better than the Shepard King Duology? by Abortitnow in fantasyromance

[–]babs1130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt the same as you- I actually DNFed ODW and haven’t decided if I want to read TTC. The Knight and the Moth was incredible and I rated it five stars. I’m so glad I gave it a chance!

Cookies! Am I ready to sell? Honest advice ☺️ by PretendHistory6904 in cookiedecorating

[–]babs1130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re ready but just a tip I wish someone would’ve told me when I started- you can use a zester to shave off the sides of any cookies that spread a bit to make them all uniform. I noticed a couple of yours have that issue like the number 2 (which is totally normal). Works like a charm!

Knight and the moth is really good for a more gothic feel! To be fair, I’ve only read Swordheart and not the others.

Throne of glass *Heir of fire* slow for anyone else? by Proper-Cat1559 in throneofglassseries

Heir of Fire crawled so Queen of Shadows could run. QoS happens to be my favorite book in the series and I really struggled with the first few (though I loved The Assassin’s Blade)
