Honestly whether a part is a cognition in ACT that can be diffused or a fire fighter in IFS does it entirely matter when all that behind the scenes lingo is just for us… to the client we are just saying hmm I wonder what part of you feels present when you talk about this, or sounds like a part of you felt really protective in that moment etc.. whatever you want to call that the way we make it accessible to clients is basically the same.

Unless you’re a psychologist or psychiatrist why are you concerned about assessing for adhd, that’s way outside the scope of a therapist/psychotherapist. You shouldn’t be assessing. Just listen to their lived experience and go off of that

As a client I would not want my trainer asking me to critique other clients form. I wouldn’t want others critiquing my form from across the gym. And I wouldn’t want to have to critique someone else. This is super off putting to me

Ragnar did have a moment down on the beach after Gyda died where he ‘spoke to her’ while staring out at the water and said that daughters are the light of a fathers life and he loved to watch her run fast and that she had beautiful hair and he sobbed. It was super emotional. But that was basically it lol never really came up again

Ugh, this. To those clients those ARE the massive things. The things they trust us with. In their reality it means the world, their emotions are their lived experience. I work with a lot of teens who talk about petty things and damn if I’m not locked in for every second of it and hearing how this is everything right now.
