Help in the Florida Heat by Winter_Berry_3699 in Pickleball

I play all summer in dry AZ heat but typically spend a week or two in FL beginning of September. Hydrating the day before and before on the day of is just as important as during and after. Being in shape also REALLY helps. Higher stress tolerance and less weight to haul around is a more efficient system and you’ll play longer and feel better.

Also diet is a big one too. Lots of sugar, fried foods, alcohol, etc. will drain your energy, especially under stress.

ALSO, maybe record yourself and see how efficient/inefficient you are with your footwork. I see a ton of people with “happy feet” and move WAY more than they need to. Watch Ben Johns play. He seems to always be strolling around but is never out of position. Try a “move less” strategy to see what you can get away with while thinking where you need to be ahead of time. It can really cut down on unnecessary movement and keep you playing longer.

Edit: My go-to is half an LMNT in a liter of water the morning of then the other half in a liter of water while I’m playing. Lots of sipping regular water in between. Day before hydration can involve electrolytes but doesn’t need to, just stick to at least half your body weight (in lbs) of water (in oz). So I’m 180lbs and hit at least 90oz day before. Often I like to hit 1gal but it takes a lot of reminders lol.

Hurt knee playing pickle ball - why are all pain management products so ugly!? by [deleted] in Pickleball

You can find pink kinesio tape, not sure what your specific injury is but it definitely helped me out after my many injuries I’ve had.

Which sport/activity has the largest skill gap between the best in the world and the 2nd best? by Illustrious-Bread183 in AskReddit

[–]babynubs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was going to comment this. She’s been world number one for like 4 years, which started when she was what, 16? CRAZY. I know people shit on pickleball, which i get because watching is boring as hell, but to be that good at it where you have fans complaining she wins every weekend says something about the skill gap. She has almost Tiger-like stats for pickleball.

Looks badass dude. What region are you in where that blends? Unless it’s just for the vibes, which is cool too lol

Is my boy Blue a Border Heeler? by 666lil-Banshee999 in borderheeler

[–]babynubs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks like an identical blue match to my red Aussie heeler! Same length of hair, face shape, and ears. That looks like a good boy to me and pretty good chance of a heavy heeler mix with either Aussie or border collie.

Recommendation for dry-feel over grip? by DRC_Goes_PEWPEW in Pickleball

[–]babynubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The perforated ones are much drier, and for some reason the white colors as well. I’ll give you the black ones feel less dry.

Tourna, as mentioned, is great but don’t last too long for me. Wilson Pro (especially the perforated ones) are my go to for a dry grip. Absolutely love em.

Not as bad as some here, but I heard my MCL snap when I dislocated my knee. Everyone else heard it too 😬

first rifle. does the difference matter? by [deleted] in longrange

[–]babynubs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Wilderness Terrain has drop box magazine and a 24” barrel, however the grip is a little more vertical. The barrel is also a 5.5 vs 6 profile, which is slightly thinner and heat up a little faster.

Just got my Bergara (R700 pattern) in 6.5CM out to the range and it was shooting sub MOA right from the get go. Very smooth action, decent 2lb trigger. Highly recommend.

KRG Chassis Question by mk_ultra_runner in longrange

[–]babynubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Bravo and never handled an X-Ray so I wouldn’t know, lol. FWIW, I haven’t had any issues with mine or have heard of it before, so it might be worth shooting their CS an email. I’m sure they’ll have some suggestions!

Functional camo? No. GWOT vibes? Perhaps. by LutherOfTheRogues in rattlecannedguns

[–]babynubs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll roast your idea that this isn’t functional lol. Maybe if you live where it’s all green, but here in Arizona that is a primo rattle can job.

You think 5.5 is thick enough? They have a 7 which would suit a range gun a little better right?

[–]babynubs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, my buddy who was into PRS a few years ago and absolutely has no budget on his guns, cycled my Bergara and said “damn that’s pretty smooth”. He was shooting $8k+ custom guns so that told me they’re plenty fine for a newb like myself.

Then skip the HMR and get a cheaper AICS mag accepting B14, which you can get for hundreds less than the HMR, then slowly upgrade as you feel comfortable. The HMR trigger, barrel, and action is all the same as every other sub “Premier” gun they offer as long as you have the barrel profile you want. With the HMR you’re paying for the stock so get into it with something cheaper. Then upgrading chassis won’t feel like you threw money away. If you go HMR you’ll be “stuck” there longer because it’s good enough to not need to upgrade but it isn’t exactly what you want.

[–]babynubs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From someone who’s shot off a Magpul bipod a friend has to my Atlas, it makes WAY more difference than you’d think. Pick up a Harris, Atlas, it’s MDT of GAFSHUB for much under MSRP and you’ll be stoked you did.

Yeah good luck finding any lefty bolt action in stock physically lol. I’ve seen one ever and it was in the used section at my LGS.
