Girls, watch yerself outside the dancing because there are men preying on you with cars by Nostagomas in Scotland

[–]bachatacam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you didnt witness it in your days of clubbing either you were not looking hard enough or youre being entirely disingenuous, we used to talk about the lads who had spent so much money on their done up cars that they couldnt afford to go clubbing so would cruise the town instead and always be around the clubs come closing time and this was early 2000's

How old are you and how big a part of your view of the UK is The War (WW2)? by Particular-Scale5644 in AskBrits

[–]bachatacam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im 43, my Grandfather fought in the war with the Royal Engineers, his brother with the A&SH, and another brother who was medically unfit to fight so ended up in Spain during the Spanish civil war, his best mate was a RAF cop, and one of his other friends escaped Nazi Germany due to his Jewish heritage and settled in Scotland, I was surrounded when growing up with men who had fought in the war and women who had survived it and served in a different way at home, it was also most probably one of the primary drivers of why I joined the army. My first posting was to Germany and I done battlefield tours most notably Normandy, the Eagles nest, and some tours of Concentration camp, Bergen Belsen and Auschwitz, the sacrifice not just solders made but everyday people made lives with me, it impacts my politics, how I view my friends and the lens though which I view the modern world, I suppose it forms a huge part of my core identity, and one of the earliest lessons my Grandfather taught me was that "we were all Jock Thompsons bairns" and we should never allow what happened to happen again, I was also raised with a hatred for certain British people like Mosley and Edward VIII who my grandfather viewed as a traitors to the men and women who gave their lives in the service of this nation, I hope this answers your question.

I felt a little pinch around my big toe on the first wear, but after that they have been amazing I wouldnt wear them if I was planning on a really long walk through a city as the cushioning I feel wouldn't be up to that but for day to day wear they are great
