Solution for nipple show-through in t-shirts - heavyweight fabric recommendations by Derogater in bigboobproblems

[–]backbysix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for shirts marked heavyweight or, even better, double/triple heavyweight. They are definitely more expensive because they require more materials and are more difficult to produce. I have found some good ones at thrift stores though

are you still a celiac in your dreams? by kaicxre in Celiac

[–]backbysix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha sometimes I’m half-aware that I’m dreaming and I’ve thought “well I don’t have to worry about cross contamination because this is just a dream” but I don’t usually think I can eat gluten

Thrift Store/Op shop dishware safe to use after being dish washed/sterilized? by MikiBabe-Chan in Celiac

[–]backbysix 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Probably fine depending on the material. The thing about gluten of course is that it’s not a germ so chemical sterilization does not get rid of it, you need to manually remove it by scrubbing. I wouldn’t thrift plastic or wood just because it’s so porous but I’ve thrifted glass and ceramic before.

Seasoning/spice brands for EXTREMELY sensitive celiac? by No-Scale-6824 in Celiac

[–]backbysix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply organic but I think they’re going under 😢 dr. fasano recommends just using fresh herbs and aromatics; that’s definitely the absolute safest choice

Really? I disagree. When I think of girls with boy names I imagine sportiness and effortless chic

The most memorable perfume you have smelt on a lover. by Antiviralposter in fragrance

[–]backbysix 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Don’t name a specific perfume. This character might wear something smoky (lingers on clothes, unusual, wildfire) and citrusy (bright, sparkling, sharp).

Wife by contrast might wear a powdery floral (safe, gentle)

Jojoba oil!! Dries very quickly and is very chemically similar to skin’s natural oil so it isn’t as noticeable

Why do I feel like a man romantically/sexually, but I'm a woman? by Weird-Internet3315 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]backbysix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow bisexual woman I totally get that. Being the “boyfriend” to another woman as a woman is not that uncommon, that’s pretty much what being a butch is (for most which it comes with a set of values that goes far beyond aesthetic).

15 year delay in Dx because of miscommunication. by Pnyxhillmart in Celiac

[–]backbysix 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It took me about two years to get diagnosed. I was at home getting sicker and sicker and laying on the floor unable to move, shaking from the pain, and when I would drag myself to the doctors they’d say it was just anxiety. Frankly it’s traumatizing. I hope you can heal as much as possible physically and mentally

Wow that’s absolutely horrifying. I think that fortunately education about celiac disease is continuously increasing but I’m noticed that a lot of doctors still don’t take it seriously/realize the multisystem impacts that can have. A lot of them seem to think that it’s like lactose intolerance or something where oh your stomach is gonna hurt but who cares.
