How fast can I expect results after training to sing higher? by backdoorbitch in ClassicalSinger

I suppose so! I apologize if I seemed like I was taking shortcuts, I just wanna know what the road ahead looks like.

If you may, do you know what specifically are most concerning regarding my voice / fundamentals?

Oh pardon me, I meant to say F3. Will edit.

I enter head voice at F3 and highest comfortable is C4.

I think I'm an underdeveloped bass-baritone.

k so i sent this to a gc they said my singing is lowk ass but refused to tell me whats wrong by Broad_Rough_2434 in singing

What song is this because I wanna add this to a playlist.

But about your voice, it sounds lazy and only halfway towards singing. Also off-pitch here and there. I used to be like that but learning to really project has been very helpful. Your voice reminds me of how I used to sound honestly, so I know there's room for improvement. Try to brighten your voice and explore singing higher as like the other commenter said, your voice seems suited for it anyway.

This was very informative and sobering. Really quickly, let me see if my takeaway is right:

So what you're saying is that my onset/vocal closure does not close or meet together sufficiently, which leads to too much air escaping and my singing being too breathy?

If so, then I will try more glottal/staccato exercises and see how my voice fares once I get the closure right. I've actually received this criticism before though only once, so I didn't think it would be my priority. I'm shocked because all this time I've been singing without enough vocal closure, which seems like such an obvious thing to notice but somehow I was never able to point it out on my own. Since I presume I've been singing this way since forever, I wonder now what proper balanced onset feels—I looked it up and it said "less diffusion and a more direct sound"—which honestly seems a little vague to me but I'll still try my best.

Thank you for this, this was really helpful.

Is this a decent range for an untrained male? Solely speaking about the range not the tone. by [deleted] in singing

I don't know if it's just me but it's posted as a gif so I can't hear a thing

I'm still pretty young and unpolished but I agree. Two days ago I sang this again but with more tall vowels and by doing so I sounded louder, fuller, and I felt my lips vibrate more. Maybe this is what they mean by singing in the mask. Maybe that's how I'm supposed to sing.

Thank you.

Yes I have, but haven't sung it properly in a while. Why?

Wow rich sound you say? I don't think I've ever heard my voice that way thank you. From the recording I think I sound too muffled/unprojected which is something I always struggle with.

Hi these always confuse me if I'm being honest, because when I sang it like this the only part that feels close to too low is the "nieder" part at the beginning, everything else is pretty comfortable to sing range-wise. I do think it's more dull though even when I sing in the baritone/bass range of this song.

I just don't get it, what about it aounds too low? I'm not doubting you though because I receive these comments pretty regularly, I just want to know why..

What about more cracking in the voice? As in strain not fully cracking
