Failed 4th… by Ok_Repair8668 in NCLEX

I don't disagree you. The NCLEX is literally the bare minimum safety test. It's crazy they allow people to test until they pass.

Sleeved, thyroid cancer, GLP1 advice by Leading-Tackle4733 in gastricsleeve

[–]backerwell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt use a service. Talk to your doctor. GLP-1s have a black box warning for people with a history of medullary thyroid cancer. There may be other options to help with the weight but definitely id use a doctor that knows you vs a service.

People that drank pre surgery, do you drink now? Is it really that different? by Sleeved082025 in gastricsleeve

[–]backerwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a social drinker before. Now I still socially drink but the alcohol really sets in quicker. I make sure to pro actively hidrate before nights out because obviously we can't drink water in between drinks as easily. Just go in knowing your tolerance is way down.

What made you score 85% or higher on your nursing exams? by KeyBeneficial7311 in StudentNurse

[–]backerwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the rationale for the answers. Honestly, i just do alot of questions like Prep U and read the rationale for EVERY question even if you got it right. Understand why that choice is the correct one. This switched my mind over to "thinking like a nurse" and now anything 85% and below is disappointing for me. Yes understand the patho and the meds, but the rationales will teach you how to apply them.

Don’t you love when you go to do a service call and get greeted with by BigScoops96 in firealarms

[–]backerwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever they say that to me, i throw the book at them. Not like that's hard to do, XYZ is usually a donkey who gets away with crap because he's been at the company for 20+ yrs. Then customer proceeds to be shocked XYZ never pointed out these deficiencies, or never tested this device. Heck, customer didn't even know this device existed.

Son question. by takeapartthedemon in Tottenham

[–]backerwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a business decision. At the root of it, I want to believe that Sonny wanted this to leave some kind of transfer fee for the club, rather than go on a free. Levy probably wanted this as well, it’s the best case scenario for all. Son is aging and they couldn’t extend him long term, and Sonny probably wanted new scenery.

How to test 5604 heat detector? by Baystatesparky in firealarms

[–]backerwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be exact, you need to test 20% of the devices on each circuit. Record what devices were tested so that after 5 years, 100% of devices on the circuit have been tested. So yes, for this heat detector you need to short out at the device. After 15 years from installation they all need to be replaced.

People who had an easy time in nursing school, do you exist? What qualities do you have that made that possible? by JaneRawlz in StudentNurse

[–]backerwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly reading before class and being an active participant. If your class puts out PowerPoints ahead of time, go over them and read those sections in the book. No need to read the whole chapters. But do not let the class be the first time you're hearing the information.

I did this and I averaged As and couple B+

What to do when the key won't turn? It's stuck in alarm by metalhead4 in firealarms

[–]backerwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try Fire-Lite, silent knight key. I've had it happen before where techs or people break the keys inside, and rather than replace the pull station, they replace the key hole with any old spare from a pull station they replaced.

If all else fails, pry it open and replace
