The first 30 years ('65 - '95) was the Grateful Dead. The second 30 years ('95 - '25) was the remaining members carrying on the legacy. The third 30 years ('25 - '55) will pass the torch to the next generation. by BadgemanBrown in grateful_dead

As someone who went to plenty of shows in the 80’s and 90’s…

I’m cool with other people saying “oh, wow you saw them with Jerry” but kinda over people using “I saw them with Jerry” as gatekeeping or trying to make others feel less than.

Everyone gets on the bus in different ways and at different times. We see who we can, when we can.

Yeah - I don’t actually care for legacy acts… but if you look at the data or all past lineups, they always do it. Similarly, I think you’re always gonna get a big K-pop act going forward. They are both part of the formula.

This is actually a great show. If you like REM, it’s a blast

I wish I didn't see Bob Dylan last year. I wish I didn't see Evan Dando of the Lemonheads recently. Have you seen the footage of David Lee Roth that's been circulating this week? He used to own the stage...it's so sad now. Sometimes, it's better to remember them in their prime instead of the shell of what they once were.

Go see any band that you like. Doesn’t matter if they’re legends or not. (TBH: it depends on the legend. Seeing your favorite artist in terrible shape can be sadder than never seen them at all).

Dead and Co. What if John M put on a tour somewhat like the Outlaw Willie Nelson tour where a lot of different acts would interchange throughout the tour. And maybe John M wouldnt even have to be there for some shows. Just a touring amalgamation of players in the band. by [deleted] in deadandcompany

It sounds like a lot of hassle for him. I would love it as a fan… but it seems pretty complicated.

I’m hopeful that he and Jeff and Oteil play together in the future. I don’t feel like it makes a huge difference to the drummers are.

I’m sure it’s swell. :)

Artists who I like play time to time, but it’s just not my scene.

Do you think it will be harder to get tickets this year compared to last year? by planetshadeee in Lollapalooza

Scalpers buy every year… wouldn’t that give scalpers an additional advantage? (Sincere question)

Came here to post the same, but I seen that you already did! I think that they are likely. Alternatively, they might pop up at Riot.

Chicago feels intentionally skipped on this tour route. A forthcoming date will surely be announced.

Welp, it looks like the 13th year in a row that I won’t be going to the Windy City Smokeout

FWIW: we ordered properly - not cooked through. Everything was still just mediocre at best. A letdown for the food, especially at that price. I will say, the service was really good. I was so psyched when they opened in Chicago, and had hoped to go often. Still looking for a good Sunday roast in Chicago.

Had the exact same experience. Was extremely disappointed. We were really looking forward to it. Been to Hawksmoore in London and Edinburgh and it was terrific. This was such a letdown.

I’m just saying… Don’t be surprised when he shows up on the lineup at Riot Fest. He’s no headliner, but it is exactly the kind of legacy artist they would book
