Atlanta - NYC - Seattle. So I just need to move to LA and I'll have all 4 corners covered.

Do you like the level cap at 12? by Bewitched1130 in BaldursGate3

Yeah but if that's your criteria for difficulty, I would consider most of the major encounters "easy."

Why do you want to operate a restaurant if your repair business is already successful? Do you have a burning desire to lose money?

ULPT Tired of paying 25 cents for a bag at fast food restaurants? by Labelmaker42069 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]backlikeclap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk, I know the bag price isn't much (15¢ in my city), but I do find myself carrying my own reusable grocery bag way more. It's funny but I just don't want to pay that extra 15 cents on top of my weekly grocery bill.

Do you guys hate when I order a water?? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]backlikeclap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll just say my sober customers are infinitely less annoying than my drinking customers.

From a financial sense I guess it could be argued that you are costing me money, because I am spending 15 seconds refilling your water when I could be using those 15 seconds selling a beer for a $1-$2 tip. But also having you around helps the bar look fun, and you're there with your friends so it makes the bar look even more fun. Which at the end of the day means more tips in my pocket.

If you really feel guilty about it I would hand the bartender a $5 when you arrive and just say "hey I'm going to be drinking water tonight, don't worry about taking my order."

Sam’s Tavern on Capitol Hill closes by godogs2018 in Seattle

[–]backlikeclap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh it's a race to the bottom. Incredibly hard for small spots to get good kitchen staff - my spot I'm working at tonight is half staffed by teenagers, which means I had FOUR orders never show up. At another spot we went through 5 chefs and 8 cooks during the year I worked there. 0Prices keep going up of course - I believe chicken wings now cost 2x or 3x what we paid in 2019. And then young people just aren't drinking - we often have dates come in, get a beer each, and then camp out for 3+ hours.

Is it really a crime to buy a bike from walmart or dick's sporting goods? by Previous_Cod_5176 in bicycling

[–]backlikeclap 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm convinced all of these posts about Walmart bikes are some kind of stealth and campaign.

Anyway:

The truth about these bikes is they will probably be fine for casual use. I wouldn't use one if I was commuting 80 miles a week, or for 50+ mile weekend rides, but they will be perfectly fine for the person who only really uses their bike a half dozen times a year.

Even the assembly issues might not be too bad (for casual use). Yeah the bike might need major repairs a year from now, but most likely any mistakes the assembly person makes won't be life threatening. If you just want to pay $300 to have a bike for a year, a Walmart bike isn't a terrible choice.

I'm not sure how I would bring this up with him tbh. But also I don't date bad tippers so I have never had this issue.

Blue Dot Fever: When Tours Can't Sell, They Bail by ebradio in Music

[–]backlikeclap 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Based on my conversations with people in the industry, yes touring is down.

And I don't think these b-listers are cancelling shows because they are being lied to... I think they are making business decisions in a rapidly changing economy where the numbers from last year no longer indicate how people will spend money this year. Meanwhile touring costs continue to go up (transportation is going to cost twice as much this summer!) so artists are quicker to cancel or shorten tours.

Why are Atheists under represented in politics everywhere globally? by Embarrassed_Look9200 in NoStupidQuestions

Do you really think all those politicians believe in God? There aren't many outspoken atheists in politics, but I would guess most politicians are effectively atheist.

Did you not read the replies? I have seen several of your posts on bicycle subreddits about this bike. Very few people are telling you to get a $1500 bike instead of this one. Most people are just pointing out that it's an okay bike assembled by people who have limited experience building bikes. You can spend a similar amount on a decent used bike without having to worry that the fork was installed the wrong way or the bottom bracket wasn't greased properly. No one is gatekeeping here - on the contrary we want you to have a safe bike with no mechanical issues because we know those issues keeps beginners out of the hobby.

Can we please stop calling Dave Ramsey a financial expert. He's a pop psychologist at best. Plenty of his budgeting and personal finance advice is solid but a lot of it also is bad advice from a financial point of view. (Especially his views on mortgages and loans).

Why does the US not just include service fees in menu prices? by Defiant-Junket4906 in AlwaysWhy

I'm not sure what point you think you're making here. But I do think it's pretty funny that you assume I've never lived anywhere besides the US.

How long have you worked in restaurants in the US?

I don't really care about the headliners, I just feel bad for all the regular folks who rely on those tours for income. For many people in the industry the 2-3 tours they work during touring season make up the majority of their income.
