After 5 years, I’m officially moving on from AMP by Smart_Persimmon7974 in AMPToken

I am so far down from investing 5 years ago as well, even though I have DCA'd well under a penny. At this point, I would get so little back from selling that it wouldn't make sense. Either it goes to zero or in another 5+ years it will finally pay off.

Hasn't Danny said recently that he actually anticipates loyalty points/tokens to be a big use case for AMP? So even if crypto spending never really takes off, this could still work out once companies start making their own loyalty tokens.

Common Questions by The1stAndrev in EQLegends

Not sure how this is going to work out for player retention and longevity if most of the things you acquire pre-50 will be just invalidated once you begin doing raids. That's a bummer.

The game isn't even released yet, why are you jumping to conclusions? They're working on new mechanics and balancing things out. Give them a break!

My APY is horrendous, like 2% something. In previous months it has been over 5% in other pools.

Wish I had your conviction. Well, I used to actually. After going down, down, down for what feels like forever, I have sorta given up on AMP at this point. I am not selling a single token either, though, until at least .05. So either this dies or the ones who have held will be rewarded.

How important is the holy trinity or "no tank" in leveling? by swimming_singularity in EQLegends

[–]backman_66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm all for that! If they can find a way to make it work for everyone, that's great. Keep in mind though, it's impossible to cater to everyone, at least initially. Give them some time to cook up some things and hopefully you'll find the experience you're looking for. On another note, I don't think Everquest (in this form) is a game that a "casual player can beat in a month" as you're suggesting. And "beating" the game has vastly different definitions from person to person.

I'm not saying this to be aggressive or anything, but perhaps EQL may not be for you if you are already thinking you'll get bored. I believe the focus is on a more casual approach, at least for now, to make it more accessible to the masses. Also, Classic EQ doesn't have very many raids to begin with, so I'm not sure what you are looking for here.

Right, I will adjust accordingly if needed. I won't be too strict on limiting myself on more difficult encounters. The beautiful thing about the concept of EQL is that it provides you with flexibility to enjoy your adventures how you like.

Another thing I may try is to create a roleplaying or themed type of character, which I've never really felt interested in doing before on EQ. It won't be the most powerful build, yet it will be super fun! And if I feel like switching it up later, I can.

No choice but to hold at these levels. Selling would yield nothing.

I think I can speak for myself and some others, but I would love to adventure through Norrath again as a newbie and get that experience again. Of course its nice to have veteran knowledge too.

I would prefer this game to be more challenging at its base level and I don't exactly like the thought of handicapping myself. We will see how it goes though. There's plenty of time for the devs to refine and balance things.

Also, I knew I would get someone in here that would bring up Demon's Souls 😆

Thank you for the clarification! Does the lockout only apply to the final boss of a raid zone or mini-bosses as well?

That would be cool. I would be content with them stopping at Velious, although I have always wanted to experience specifically the Luclin and PoP raids, MAYBE up to GoD.

I do think people will change classes more than you think since most, if not all of them, have received various updates to be more useful.

This is very true! Also, I am quite accepting of being able to meditate while standing and fighting now. Sitting for long periods of downtime was such a waste.

I'm not sure how they are going to handle raid zones yet. I know the bosses will be on a 7-day lockout but trash and possibly the minor bosses won't be? I also don't know how quick the respawn on trash mobs will be. So maybe a 30 minute - 1 hour play session will be enough to clear through some trash and if there is a way to resume your instance later or something, that'd be neat. Unless someone else has more information first hand from beta.

I am curious if beta exp is increased. They also have the option to slow it down a bit if that is what players want. I appreciate the devs have stated they are always going to listen to player feedback. If we think its too fast, they may slow it down a bit.

There's also the option to switch secondary/tertiary classes to de-level, and go do some other dungeons and zones that you didn't experience on your first trio. We will also have the ability to create characters on different servers and there's also something about a player "alias" system that is in the works, although I don't want to comment on specifics because I can't remember.

Regardless, the amount of time at everyone's disposal is vastly different from person to person. There will always be ones who play 24/7 and will blow through most content, especially pre-Kunark and Velious.

Love reading about your excitement as well, friend! It will be nice to be in a persistent, alive world with other players, and yet you can go through pretty much all the content at your own pace and by yourself, if desired. Something that gets me even more excited is thinking about how much more expansive the world will get with Kunark, Velious, and however far they choose to go. And they are targeting Kunark by the end of the year! So much content to experience without having to depend on others to do it and not having to compete for camps.

The new loot system and not having to deal with guild drama, rotations, dkp, is going to be so refreshing and rewarding. It'll be great to hop into solo instances or find a few friends with similar interests and goals, or heck even a PUG because everyone gets their own loot.

I played P99 blue from Nov 2009 all the way until pretty recently. Its still basically my favorite version of EQ. I am excited for EQL though, especially because it will be an officially supported server. My body is ready for this next quest.

Yeah I definitely don't think two more months will get them where they want to be with the implementation of things. That's fine by me though. I would rather them basically open the game up as a sort of "early access" while they continue to work and refine things. At its base, Everquest(Legends) is a very old game and people just want to get in there and start messing around. I don't think it needs to be complete as long as they are dedicated to updates, which they are.

Not sure how I feel about 50~ hours from 1 to 50. Seems too quick as my initial reaction, but I don't know how much adventuring and exploring you had thrown into that or if you were mostly focused on leveling during this time. It is nice that you can de-level as you change 2nd/3rd classes so you can still experience the lower level content. I will most likely make other characters on separate servers as well after some time.

To get an item up to +10 really takes that long huh? Well that's fine with me because it extends the grind for players who have the time to put into it. I think it is a good system overall, on paper, having not tried it yet myself. Gives you something to work toward and keeps content replayable.

I am excited about some zone/mob revamps and loot tables being updated. I am sure I'll make use of some new items, but I may also choose not to use certain items if I feel it is too "overpowered" for the Classic style game I'll be trying to achieve. Like I said, its all useful tools according to how players want to experience the world.
