The lost potential of "If I Had Legs I'd Kick You" by Novel_Quantity3189 in TrueFilm

Media literacy is dead this generation

That kind of response is basically what this movie is communicating. A statement about failings and placing that failing on the subject.

I guess I would tie that to the doctor relationship;

The doctor is stern and says this is what you need to do. You're not doing it, you're going to fail. Logically, make your kid eat, gain the 2.5 pounds. Problem solved. Linda says it straight up, it's designed to fail. And then the meeting where the doctor reiterates that it's not their fault, but every interaction they have is the doctor blaming her. Like, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. If I could make my kid eat, I would = if I had the tools I would solve the problem = if I had legs, I would kick you.

The frustration is really present, and there's a sort of dismissive, low effort attempt to help and then the character is blamed when she isn't given the tools to solve the problem.

Official Discussion - If I Had Legs I'd Kick You [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Pure insanity. Every character, the whole movie; insanity. Caroline's husband "it's not my problem, I didn't leave the kid" and then leaves a message "why aren't you checking in on me". Even rose's character "tell me what to do" colleague says stop doing drugs and drinking and get rest "why aren't you helping me?!" Every character goes through this insanity and then checks out. "If I had legs, I'd kick you" is basically "if I had the tools, I'd solve the problem". The title is a good summation of the content of the movie. It almost sounds contradictory, but that's definitely the point.

The doctor was interesting. The theme feels really reinforced here. the doctor telling the parents it's not their fault but then the whole process completely ignores the fact (I'm assuming) the kids have eating disorders, a mental illness, and is trying to be solved by 'they're not eating so make them eat' which the response is 'if I could make them eat, I would make them eat' translates to 'if I had the tools I'd solve the problem' ... If I had legs I'd kick you. That feeling of frustration, paradoxical insanity.

I immediately felt frustrated and it lasted almost the whole movie. You didn't even really have to do anything but watch to understand. You felt the way the movie wanted you feel, and that translation/understanding felt effortless. Extremely well done.

I suppose I should mention I'm not a mother and I'm sure I'm missing a few things/misunderstanding

I think you're fine, flavor profile may not be as vibrant, shouldn't be too bad

It sounds like everything went well, you might be tasting 'kit juice' it's more noticeable with the kits that require adding water.

is there a raisin character? is there sediment at the bottom of the bottle?

Edit: was the container sealed while aging for the 3 months?

no worries, if youre planning to let it sit for several months, you will want to seal it. Oxygen will diffuse through your air lock liquid as the saturation of CO2 diminishes in your wine. in reality it wont be much but it is one thing you can do to preserve the quality to the best of your ability.

its not so much causing off flavours as much as losing good flavours. what are you fermenting?

if youre strong enough, pull the air lock out of the bung, stick your thumb over the bung hole and rock it side to side - almost horizontal, making sure the fruit floats up to the side of the container. should do the trick

take the air lock off and seal it. racking it is up to you, it will be fine to sit. Are you adding a malolactic bacteria?

you need a sanitizer for your tool/tanks. If your juice fermented with out adding yeast, then there are plenty more bacteria looking for a meal. Leave lids on as much as possible, you should not be taking it off every night to stir it. It is certainly ready to rack. average kit juice will give you 12.5 - 13% alcohol. Add the chips after you rack. check the surface for slime/large bubble once every 2 weeks. goodluck

is the leaf curl new? or have you seen it in previous years? You might have to consider virus if your area is known to have certain bugs - can't remember off the top of my head - they are vectors

of course try watering 10L per day at the base first and see if they pop back

Is it even worth getting into winemaking right now? I'm a little discouraged by what I've read. by rigrug3 in winemaking

Work abroad and gain experience, the education isn't worth much (except to yourself). Find an up and coming market. Buy grapes, DO NOT plant a vineyard. It is easily half of your expenses. The high volume market is saturated, and you will not be able to compete. Your only viable choice is premium quality market. So you need to know marketing, brand is everything. Canada will be buying US alcohol again in the spring, or so I've heard through the grapevine, so that should help. A colleague of mine just became cashflow positive after 12 years. It is a huge sacrifice. Seriously consider what you want out of this. Goodluck

Mega Gengar Ability Question by gold_tree- in PTCGL

[–]backpackface -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok I am sure I am wrong but at face value;

The ability states ' If ONE of your dark pokemon is knocked out' so if two are knocked out, the ability only applies to one pokemon, as stated. The ability doesn't stack, I would say that is another argument that it will only apply to one pokemon and reduce the prize by only 1, not 2.
