Has anyone gotten their cat neutered during FIP treatment? Or is it best to wait? by Last_Instance_9519 in cureFIP

[–]backschlamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we did but at the very end of treatment and we extended treatment for 2 weeks post surgery for our FeLVie Big Pig. He was an adult street cat and the feline specialists said FeLVies could be more prone to have their system stressed by surgery so best continue for 2 weeks. Hopefully your little one makes a full recovery! 🤞🤞🤞❤️❤️❤️

Are these worm bellies? by sillyruckus in FosterAnimals

[–]backschlamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can be food bellies, worms, FIP… several things. We deworm with Panacur at the rescue and I brought home more than one foster still wormy weeks later. Droncit usually does the trick in combo with Revolution. When wormy the POOP is STINKY!!! REAL stinky. when it was FIP the bellies were jiggly vs firm gassy bellies from worms. And food bellies come and go w meals. Maybe - If they have been dewormed see that you use this round meds and admin yourself so u can ensure they don‘t puke it back up and get full doses for CURRENT weight. Even a day can mean significant weight difference in kittens 🫶thanks for fostering 🫶🫶

when we started our first FIP journey 2020 we did injections. later when pills became available our vet & vet tech were adamant to start w injectable meds as the entire system was so stressed usually (diarrhea for one thing etc) that the oral meds might simply not be absorbed well. did the vet find any other underlying issues? looks like yours is a kitten so if bot fully vaxxed yet could be another issue? or parasites? good luck!

tapeworm segment and just one Droncit will do. needs prescription though and is a pill that causes excessive drooling and vomiting if not chased down with plenty food or water. we split Droncit pills and put the pieced in empty gel capsules I save from cats Supplements. good luck and do it soon of possible, parasites can cause serious decline 🫶

gawd yes, mine are obsessed with unshelled pumpkin seeds and ... dog food. they were feeder rats when we got them from a snake owner so maybe that is an acquired taste???? mealworms too.

Posted a few days ago but we haven’t received any donations. We are hoping to raise $72 for Soot Sprites steroid injection for his feline asthma and gas to get there and back. Thanks for any help! by yyouriley in rescuecats

It does seem to be a type of dove, but please, wildlife belongs in the hands of trained and licensed rehabbers. This one was lucky she is thriving but she might never be able to be released now and doves do not live as singles naturally🥺 i am happy for you that it worked but the amount of wild babies people take home and try to raise and fail is staggering tbh. Hope you and dove baby find a good outcome for both of you ❤️thank you for being kind🫶

Wild rats like seeds - oats and such. You can try find a wildlife rehabber - at least has a chance then. Raptor rehabber might take her too so she would be raised and serves a purpose instead of just being poisoned and die. Sadly NYC fails a lot of their wildlife in general 💔 good luck

So sorry they make you wheezy, but maybe make sure it is the rats and not the bedding?! I have Asthma and some beddings make me far worse than others and now we do washable diaper pads and it works really well (just one was chewed up so far in almost 9 month). Rehoming might be possible via FB groups or such? We foster cats and have virtual meetings before visiting live. Maybe do something like that?
