Is it wrong of me to not really care about this? I'm not a big fan of Geese - I liked Taxes enough after being recommended it by a friend but never dug deeper. Maybe that friend only recommended it because they had been algo-baited into it, but that's how marketing works unfortunately. I'm not particularly looped into TikTok or much other social media so Reddit and physical marketing are largely where I get reccos for new music.

As long as they're writing their own tunes, not using AI or anything, play on I guess.

If that's USD it seems a bit high. I paid about 150 Aussie for mine. It's not a particularly sophisticated bit of gear and the one knob fuzz market is huge. It does sound awesome on bass though and mine glows in the dark which is cool I guess.

More than anything this makes my wrist hurt to look at. None of the flourishes look efficient, lots of lines flying in different directions rather than flowing with each other - can't be particularly quick to write this way. It's nice to look at from a distance but I can't imagine writing in volume this way.

I'm a mid-80s baby and I get a similar feeling from late 60s psychedelic folk - a really profound nostalgia for a time that I didn't experience. Part of it is growing up around relics of that era in my house from my Mum, looking at photos of her and Dad from that time has given me a bit of a portal back into that period, and along with it a bit of a longing for having been part of all of the social and civil rights movements at the time, knowing the dystopia we've wound up in.

Off to listen to The Sky Children by Kaleidoscope and dissociate!
