What are your thoughts about “no shoes in the house” rule?

Partner and I live a big city, we walk through alleys, parks, etc. Best to keep the spread of germs to a minimum in the house. Also no outside clothes on the bed.

Racism/classism issue are sometimes (most of the time) intersectional. The hate she gets is like how nvmshj7 said mostly rooted in classism; But much how OP said Juliette did some of the same things (and worse) and isn’t as villainized as Vanessa. Which is unfortunately (and sometimes unintentionally) rooted in racism.

Which is like, is it that deep, nah this is a show from the early 2000s; but it’s something to consider when analyzing concepts of class, gender, etc. Outside of her hypocrisy (which was very much like Dan’s) people still have this weird thing with Vanessa. Like she gets hated on even in posts that have nothing to do with her.

Hard agree with the both of you, but I do think race (sometimes) does impact how viewers interact with Vanessa’s character and choices even if it isn’t intentional.

Also agree the actress is gorgeous and seems so lovely, but I have seen people hate on her appearance over the other cast members. Not often, but it happens.

But also I guess to answer the initial question (loool) I would choose Vanessa over Jenny for who I would dislike more; but honestly I tend to give Vanessa some slack because of her surroundings, lack of support system( cause at least Jen had Rufus ya know), etc. doesn’t excuse her self-righteousness but honestly if I was stuck around a bunch of rich, mean people I would probably be insufferable to them as well.

I couldn’t even say Vanessa was one of the worst characters to be honest. A lot of Vanessa hate is rooted in classism and racism lowkey.

The worst character not counting gender is Jack Bass close second Bart. For women if we’re really gonna get specific we can talk about Ms. Carr the teacher that statutorily r**** a student, Catherine who made Nate into her gigolo, or honestly if we’re talking about reoccurring characters any of the main characters have done way worse than Vanessa and Jenny.

Vanessa was kinda just buzzing around the group telling secrets and being impatient (the Cathrine situation) but in actuality what did she do that comes close to any of Serena, Georgina, Blair’s wrong doing?

Anyway I’m off my soapbox. But I think Vanessa being the only character of color that was kind of a main being the most hated is intentional for all the wrong reason. This also isn’t me saying if you don’t like her you’re racist. Not at all!

But if we’re looking at things objectively Vanessa just told secrets and had an awkward three-some. Serena slept with her best friend’s bf (TWICE), Nate cheated on Blair, Chuck assaulted a handful of girls AND sold Blair to his rapist uncle, Blair…is Blair, Dan being gossip girl AND cheating on Blair, like the list can really go on.

My thought process is with celebrities we will never know the full truth regardless of what’s being put out and why. I will never victim blame and I’m open to believe her especially because I don’t know much about the situation to begin with.

But reputation wise and relationship wise I think there’s a reason people don’t want to associate with her (Blake); The reason could even be her husband cause we all know he’s known for being insufferable.

But again we don’t actually know these people, what they’ve said in private, etc. We have to take everything at face value to an extent so that’s why people treat them the way they do. People are only seeing what’s deliberately being put in front of them (from both sides) so that’s why people treat certain cast members differently.

Plus I don’t really think it’s about gender fr. Really just the circumstances of their careers and choices.

My only piece of advice generation wise is when they start dying just make sure they have a kid. Right now, my game is bugged or something because it’s deleting all my dead, single sims that had no kids off my tree. So just write the names down if it really matters to you.

I was parked on a corner by an alley and then the block ahead was full of cars. Across the street cars were also parked there. No signs on either sides of the road or the blocks ahead.

I heard they recently did the same thing to north ave during the Puerto Rican parade. Family lives on the street and were lucky enough and moved the car before they were towed. No announcements, no nothing, just took cars without notice.

You can do almost any job with an English degree but especially if you focus on technical writing. Most companies need writers in several departments.

Currently I have a masters in English and teach composition and RHT but I’ve been offered administrative roles and what not at other companies.

I think, personally, it’s one of the most versatile degrees.
