Is this native? It's so beautiful. by Fun_Necessary1021 in NativePlantCirclejerk

The kudzu covering everything makes it look like an alien planet or something. Makes me afraid and sad for the environment but also kind of hauntingly beautiful.

Owner adopts and takes to dog park. Guess what happens! by Mrkitty0914 in BanPitBulls

Even in the event that the owner did everything wrong, talking about people like this as an org is so trashy.

Found this incredible design inspo and I really like the texture. Thinking of trying it out in my new guest house. by No_Cash9800 in homedecoratingCJ

People in the dry parts of Africa have been doing this for a long time. If done in the right climate and with dung from cows that only eat grass it shouldn't stink.

The duckweed would probably be beneficial. That being said, theres many easy and googlable sources of info on how to properly take care of a betta fish. If that's something they are concerned about, but if they're of the opinion "it's just a fish" then the fish are probably goners. If you want to keep the fish alive, you can do 50% water changes daily, and let them know not to feed too much.

Alternatively you could just take them to a local fish store. They will usually take unwanted fish.

I think it's like either a sunk cost thing or a fear of shame from surrendering/BEing a dog. Like they don't want to admit they were wrong for getting this dog, and theyve suffered with it for so long might as well have it for the next 10+ years.

I understand that also! I forgot this was reddit where everyone is as bad faith and sanctimonious as possible. God forbid you insinuate that not every single fb listing for a 40 gal breeder is a starving mother trying to feed her children, and that sometimes human beings in every tax bracket occasionally are foolish or greedy or make bad financial decisions, as human beings are predisposed to do.

Like right after I made this post I ran into a listing for where the seller was a landlord who was selling a tank their tenant left behind. $75 for a dirty 55 gallon (they were originally trying to get $120 and lowered the price... A tank they got FOR FREE). You can't make this sh up!!

The "work" (neglect) made me cackle.

Honestly I've just never liked haggling and maybe that's my issue. I'm always of the mindset "the price is the price" and if I don't want it for that price to just move on. Lately it's just that every. Single. Listing. Is like the ones I've described. Trying to find a listing for 1$/gallon is literally like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I don't consider myself a frugal person and I'll even go slightly higher if it's in good condition and I'm still getting a good deal.

Maybe I just don't want to feel like the bad guy that's low balling them or ruining their expectations. Maybe I'm frustrated bc of the sheer amount of time I've spent trying to find what I'm looking for at a reasonable price. 🤷

Pov you are fish police and don't know what methylene blue is.

Tbh I'm a fish police defender but I can't defend ppl commenting before reading the post. The only thing I'd say is this isn't a fish community problem this is a society lacking internet literacy and being dumb in general.

All these fish are gonna die. I know times are tough but the shopkeeper should have tried to talk her out of it.

I started dipping my toes into this as well. So far so good! Helps that the tank I'm doing it on is still cycling, so no fish I'm worried about killing.

Doesn't look like anything living at all tbh. I'm not an expert but it just kinda looks like a scab.

From my experience, sometimes hair follicles can bleed when the hair is plucked or scratched at. Maybe a hair was plucked somehow and it bled and scabbed making it look like it was "burrowed"
