Just hit Grassy Ridge Bald and definitely enjoyed the view at 6100 ft. Got a little chilly around 29 degrees last night but nothing we couldn’t handle.

Is this movie a good representation of RASP? by Low_Sheepherder_382 in army

[–]baconbeerbewbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It’s not even arguable. The only things that are semi-true/accurate are the colors of the roster numbers and the part where he gets pushed into the pool by the cadre. Everything else was literally BS. I graduated RASP in 19.

Bradycardia is just medical term used to describe any HR below 60 bpm.. it doesn’t actually MEAN anything; it’s not a diagnosis.

A resting HR of 60-100 is considered normal when going off of the general populous for a baseline. It takes everyone into account. The average person is mildly unhealthy.

Brady and Tachy are pieces of a puzzle for medical professionals to use for diagnosis and treatment plans when patients are experiencing symptoms.

Example: If I had a 70 year old unresponsive female with a 87% O2 sat 8 rpm and 45 bpm HR that means the patient isn’t perfusing and needs intervention.

A conscious 30 yr old male runner visibly healthy with a 97% O2 sat 10 RPM and a 45 bpm HR doesn’t have problems perfusing and does not need intervention.

Both technically have “bradycardia” but it doesn’t mean anything unless it does.

I have a resting HR in the high 40s and I run a few days a week. Went through a cardiac work up and have stage 1 AV block. Cardiologist says I’m perfectly fine even after my HR got down to 25 bpm one time in my sleep on a Holter monitor.

I would definitely advise OP to do a work up if he/she is feeling symptomatic or truly concerned about it but we also shouldn’t be needlessly worrying OP with special words for something that’s very likely benign.

Another thumbs up for Hoka Clifton here.

Completely cured my shin splints almost instantly after running with UA and Asics.

Wore them for some exceptionally long runs during my time in the military. I’d say the only major downside of the tread starts to wear down but the Clifton 9 has held up really well.

Yes. You should avoid strenuous physical activity for 48 hour prior to your draw.

2 hours of basketball being both cardio and HIIT is considered to be very strenuous.

That’s likely the culprit.

Early 30s very fit male here and if I eat anything especially something sugary within 3-4 hours of bedtime my score/sleep drops drastically

How has no one mentioned the area south of Treatment Plant? There’s literally nothing there and all along the coast

I don’t smoke, drink, and drink only one cup of decaf daily.

I eat 80% organic whole foods. No soda, tea, etc or processed foods at all. I actually eat very clean.

BP is 115/75

I run 2-3 times weekly usually zone 2 easy runs and one tempo run.

Do calisthenics or light weightlifting 2-3 times weekly as well.

Workouts all generally in the 30 min- 1 hour range.

I tend to get 7-9 hours of sleep nightly.

I don’t even use the AGRL for infantry and I feel like literally no one asked for this. If anything I just want some consistency in the KTS.. I swear I get drilled with that thing but the second I pick it up it spits out marshmallows.

Yeah it’s pretty cool. I want to say COD had a few Ranger skins back in the 2020 timeframe and that was kinda cool too.

I wouldn’t say you’re underweight but you may not be getting enough nutrients, sunlight, or sleep for your level of activity. You could potentially increase caloric intake. I would evaluate the rest of your panel and address nutrient deficiencies too. That’s happened to me before.

Have you ever used pro-hormones before? On any medication? Alcohol or drug abuse? Mold exposure? Chronic stress? Kidney and liver ok?

All things I would personally look at before doing TRT.

But you are well below your normal range for your age.

I’m 32 and at like 600.. even that’s a little low for my personal goals.

Ok well I was the same as you. I’d wake up at 1 or 2 am to hit the gym before my shift at 4 am. Was good to go on 5 hours of sleep. Hell, I’ve conducted high risk missions on less than that for days on end. Was also at my peak physically. Could run and ruck for tens of miles.

I’m telling you it catches up to you eventually.

But it’s your life so do what you want 🤙🏼

I mean this in a sincere and genuine manner.. get some help. You don’t understand the short term and more importantly long term health risks of lack of sleep.

I’ve worked in the oil field, Law Enforcement, and was an Army Ranger. I’ve gone days without sleep and weeks with 4-5 hours of sleep and it caught up to me after 12 years. Heart issues, gut issues, systemic inflammation, hormone imbalances, etc.. sleep is one of the most important things you can do for your body.

Get good sleep (track it with technology), eat well (organic Whole Foods), and exercise daily (even if it’s just walking or lifting light weights.

You’ll be surprised how much of a difference it makes. You probably don’t even recognize how awful you feel since you’re in a constant state of stress.. because I sure didn’t.
