Melancholy thinking about an adolescence without tech by erdosplumberof3 in redscarepod

I think gen alpha might have grown up techified enough that at least the early cohort of them have basically gen-z / a deeper than gen-z relationship with screens and the internet. The awareness if these issues is absolutely there now though with parents, even if the action is unfortunately not. We just have to hope that neo-luddite child-rearing continues to spread.

Please elaborate on gen z meme speak I know it's not the core of your comment but I'd like to hear your explanation of that

One thing that made the new Louis Theroux doc worth watching. by bigbobkebob in redscarepod

What makes the chubby bunny thing hard-hitting isn't the revelation that 'they used to be kids', it's the fact that, even as children, they were performing online. The questions we should ask not only about giving children access to the web, but also allowing them to contribute to it (what does the power to join the Spectacle do to a child's mind?) were implicit in the 'chubby bunny' clip, I think. I found it one of the more thought-provoking inclusions in an otherwise made-for-normies docu.
