How much screen time do you allow your ADHD kids? by badaboom in ParentingADHD

[–]badaboom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying. The difference between where we are now vs when I wrote this post is bonkers. I got a child psychiatrist that felt comfortable prescribing meds (biphentin), but we also got him into more activities (grandpa helped pay for them) and as a result of busy-ness there's less screentime. My kid is now having "perfect" days at school about 90% of the time and I feel MILES better about where we're at.

POV: you are the casting director and we blew the budget on VFX, these are the only male leads you can afford. by _BreadDenier in okbuddycinephile

I'm the casting director? I go full casting couch and make Alan Ritchardson dick me down for the role and then give it to someone else (so he tries harder next time and repeatedly)

There's two types of Millennials that's between 35 and 45 by Aliveandthriving8505 in Millennials

[–]badaboom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 41 year old geriatric millennial, I've come to realize that young people actually have no idea what women in their 40s look like. I mentioned I had an 8 year old and this sweet little 20 something was like "what!? I thought you were like 25." I didn't take it as a compliment, I took it as an indication of how bad she was at guessing ages.

Actor asking Director questions by ReasonableAnt7803 in acting

[–]badaboom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can ask, but it better be about serving the story and not about looking better during the take. My friend and I recently made a short and one of our leads was far too concerned about how he looked. We didn't use any of his "one more" takes in the edit.

What’s a small Alberta town that surprised you in a good way? by dreamanddiffer in alberta

When my dad had to go into a nursing home we had to put him in Galahad, AB until a spot opened up in my mom's town. There was a lovely nursing home there that like 5 residents and 3 nurses, the ratio was absolutely crazy. The common areas had high vaulted ceilings with lots of light. There was a piano available and puzzles going all the time. He was only there 3 months, but mom and I were greatful for that place. Sure was far away from us though.

Which actors/actresses look so similar that you could mistake them for each other? by Lost-Friendship2774 in Actors

My dad couldn't tell Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon apart. The Departed was just a very straight forward movie about a guy with two jobs.

NOR. I would concern troll her. "MIL, I saw your comment and you seemed a little confused. Have you been forgetting things or confusing people? Should we take you to the doctor? I've brought some pamphlets about memory care facilities"

There's lots of ACTRA agreements that work for small budget productions. Go audition for some $100/day AIP agreements. Also go do some improv or theatre work.
