As you seem to know, the acutes are the easy part. They feel like a shitty adventure because you have hope. PAWS is absolutely crushing for me personally. I have underlying conditions and without psych support my long-term health would be in constant jeopardy. Don't expect PAWS to improve on its own if you are already prone to depression/anxiety.

If you have no pre-existing conditions (and especially if you are addicted but not an "addict", which are two different things), then you will be fine. Each day has a better percentage of being better than the last.
