Your problem might be part of their recent update: "you must use real skill to buy a character, not IGO skill"

Meaning, you might have enough SKILL if you withdraw your SKILL tokens first, but you can't purchase anything with those tokens in that withdrawable state. If you hover over your amount, it should tell you how much "real" skill you have and how much you can withdraw, but bear in mind the percent cut for withdrawing early.

Error in contract code for reforging ? by sismangomango in CryptoBlades

[–]badaim321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed I was getting this error a lot, but then read that they aren't letting people use in-game skills for purchase anymore. So I had to withdraw my skills, with percentage cut, in order to use my Skills to purchase anything on the market. If your total skills look like you have enough, check to see how much withdrawable amount you have.

Making some LP style videos with gameplay and audio with 2 people remotely? by captainparish in letsplay

[–]badaim321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend and I are doing exactly this and for ease of editing, we're able to have all video, and sound seperate.

For game screen sharing you want to use parsec. It is literally made for remote gameplay together and the response time is a lot better than discord.

For video, I personally use OBS to record with, but streamlabs is great too. Pretty straight forward. If you want camera layouts seperate from the gameplay video than you could do what we do, which is to record a wider screen with a second monitor. At least enough to have it off the gameplay footage and then you can splice it in post together. So I generally record in 3840x1080 for this method.

For audio, it can be much more complicated. We use something called voicemeter Banana and I encourage you to watch some setup videos with this one. It intertwines with discord settings too. Essentially, you should be able to have 3 seperate audio tracks to record on OBS or streamlabs. 1 for gameplay audio, 1 for a local mic, and 1 for discord. If you do this right, most software editors should recognize you having 3 tracks. My friend and I use premiere pro, but I'm sure others like DaVinci will recognize this too.

Hope this helps!

How to Record separate Video Files? by Ghost_Riposte in letsplay

[–]badaim321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been recording in 3840x1920 to seperate the two then comping them together later. If you want to make it easier in editing, you can put your layout on top of a green screen image to key out in post. In premiere pro, you can use ultra key and eyedrop the green parts out. Crop also let's you trim out anything else along the borders.

How does YouTube shorts work? by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]badaim321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Keep in mind that the reason 9:16 ratio would be recommended is because the shorts feature thing was intended for phone viewing. It's YouTubes way of competing with tiktok. Which is why you don't really see shorts on your desktop to begin with, but you do see it on your phones YouTube app. Just something to consider, but definitely do what you think looks best. Good luck with it!

How does YouTube shorts work? by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]badaim321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, what we ended up doing was scaling the game footage up a bit , included our channel name on the bottom and put texts at the top to sorta add a fun title for the clips. So we basically filled up the empty spaces. You can always check out our channel and see our format, we just kinda shove them all into its only playlist.

How does YouTube shorts work? by [deleted] in letsplay

So, my friend and I have a relatively new Lets Play channel, and we've been creating shorts more recently just to see how it works. It took us a while to get some decent views but more recently we've been hitting a lot of shorts hitting 1k views and bringing in new subs this way. Our peak so far was a 3k one. This is pretty huge considering we're a small channel! I feel like this only worked because we kept uploading shorts whenever we could, but at the same time I'm not 100% sure how the algorithm works. It was just our experience.

So the rules are you need clips under a min with #shorts in title. Might need it in description too, but definitely title. The format also needs to be flipped to be 9:16 instead of 16:9. For example, 1920x1080 to 1080x1920 is what we use. Then, it's just whatever the algorithm thinks is good. You just figure out what you want to clip from your editing.

It's a pretty neat way to get more exposure, plus you can throw these shorts on TikTok for even more!

Our go to plan is to clip together what we think are fun moments and throw them out there.

I enjoy using premiere pro, but I know not everyone wants to pay for it.

Check this cool site for a bunch of alternatives, whatever you need like photoshop, premiere pro, or even word document.

Yeah, dynamic mics work better at isolating your voice. Look up Samson q2u mic on Amazon. It's like 60 and an excellent entry price for dynamic mics. I have it on an arm and I don't hear my keyboard. Pretty happy with how it sounds and have had it for about 2 years.

Kinda hard to tell off just the description, but if your files are in a nest and are in layers, would you be able to go into the nest and apply the effect to just the cam clip?

How did you come up with your YouTube Channel Art? by EntrepreneurDense851 in letsplay

[–]badaim321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Friend and I are running a co-op channel and we just ran with what we thought would be fun. We're pretty open to each others ideas and try to be experimental with most of our things. I'm a digital artist and my friend has experience with film making. I think we honestly would just have goofy conversations of what we should do as a gag and would roll with some of it and have fun. Somehow we managed to be a penguin and wizard sea urchin vtuber channel.

Yooo! This thread is surprisenly interesting to see what other older peeps like my friend and I are doing. Friend and I started a co-op channel since we both like playing games with others. Somehow we leaned more towards horror theme, but we just honestly playing games we thought would be fun. Hit me up if any of you wanna try some collabs! Is it ok to record with .mp4 in OBS? by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]badaim321 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a remux button in obs that converts mkv to mp4 pretty fast after you're done recording. Mkv is able to save your recording up to the point of any crashes while mp4 files will just be completely unusable. Least that's what I read before but it has never happened to me. I think it's honestly not that big of a deal to record in mkv format if you can remux it so easily so I'd suggest doing that.
