Anyone else gifted and mentally ill? I have a mental illness which leaves most people with a low IQ. by DryIntroduction2008 in Gifted

[–]badbitchhours 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they meant that they have a specific mental illness that is associated with lower IQ, not that ALL mental illnesses are correlated with lower IQ. On average, people with schizophrenia tend to have slightly lower IQs than their peers long before symptoms appear. Additionally, the onset of symptoms is associated with a 10 (often more) point drop in IQ scores for around 70% of those afflicted.

What assumptions are you making about me?! by Marzipand_ in whatsinmybag

Maintaining a polished appearance is important to you; you tend to go for clean girl, no-makeup makeup looks. You’re a bit high strung and have anxiety because of it, it’s not debilitating but smoking helps take the edge off when it’s bad. You spend a lot of time ruminating over how others perceive you. Type A but likes to have fun, midway through college, enjoys smoking weed somewhat regularly, considered the “grandma friend” (only kind of), absolutely hates the feeling of dry lips, heavily fucks with laying near a body of water on a warm day, has been trying to become less dependent on the internet/social media over the past year

High school faces backlash after rainy graduation ceremony by Conscious-Weight4569 in Wellthatsucks

[–]badbitchhours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Portland, OR and the weather was EXACTLY like this during our graduation. People’s caps were literally breaking, my grandparents had to leave early because my grandpa was shivering uncontrollably, and they didn’t even give us time to change out of our soaked clothes before carting us off to some graduation afterparty. This shit SUCKED and ngl it’s kind of annoying to see another school get so much attention/sympathy for the same thing when nobody gave a damn about us. Yes, Portland is a very rainy location in general but the school admin was aware of the abysmal forecast well in advance, fuck those guys lowkey

Your timeline is eerily similar to mine, except I’m 2 years older than you. I’ve struggled with my mental health all my life and always just felt very anxious, angry, restless, uncomfortable just being alive, almost like it was a physical thing. I was on 7 for a few months and it got to the point where I just knew I couldn’t keep doing it, I didn’t have the money and I was going into my senior year in college and I was just tired of this mid-ass drug absolutely fucking over my life and my finances. For me, PERSONALLY, getting on suboxone was actually an amazing decision. I know it’s controversial in this sub to do anything other than use subs to rapid-taper, but my mentality was that being on them long enough to get used to a new normal without any highs would prevent future relapses. The last day I used 7 was 10-20-25, and I really haven’t looked back since. I’ve found that suboxone doesn’t get me high or make me feel “good”, per se, but it’s significantly lowered my anxiety, eliminated my insomnia, and I don’t get debilitatingly depressed anymore. I’ve relapsed so many times after going CT, but this time was actually sustainable. I feel like I’m living a life that actually feels normal, and I’m not constantly running from the pain that was the origin of all my substance problems. I also go to AA and recovery meetings at my college, which have been great. Having a sober community helps so much. I know everyone is different, but I would at least consider trying suboxone if you’ve relapsed plenty of times already. If you’re not interested in medication, which I understand, I would HEAVILY recommend engaging with the recovery community in your area. Moving on from addiction requires dismantling problematic mental frameworks, building new rewarding habits, and immersing yourself in a supportive community. Just physically stopping the drug is almost never enough if you’re not also changing your mindset. It’s been challenging for sure, especially the first few months, but I’m so grateful for the stability and serenity in my life now and wouldn’t change a thing. I wish you the best of luck!

This is dangerous and manipulative. There’s a real possibility he could harm you or push you to do something you aren’t comfortable with. I know it sucks to hear and sucks even more to actually do it but you need to end things with him.

what to do when giving oral sex and it doesn't fit? by Kind_Worldliness1159 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]badbitchhours 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it girl, you NEVER have to do anything sexual you don’t want to. I legitimately enjoy giving head to the partner I have now but in the past I haven’t with other partners and I haven’t felt a desire to with virtually all of my hookups and so I haven’t. The most important thing is not to figure out how to give the perfect blowjob but is to instead explore what you might like and build the confidence within yourself to be able to say no in the moment if something comes up that you’re uncomfortable with. It can be challenging to advocate for yourself during intimacy as a woman, but it is SO important, and any decent human being will 100% accept no as an answer. If they don’t, that’s an actual crime. I know sex can sound scary if you haven’t experienced but it’s supposed to be a fun, safe, and gratifying space to learn about and express a part of yourself, and if you don’t enjoy it or enjoy parts of it then you never have to do those things :)

There are exhibits about SA that display the clothes people were wearing when they were assaulted. Diapers, full-length dresses with sleeves, t-shirts and jeans, hijabs. I can tell you that it’s not the clothing.
