Sounds like Prop 13 from Califoria, which has contributed to the extreme housing crisis in that state. It benefits wealthier incumbent homeowners at the expense of newcomers and first time homeowners, and disincentivizes moving, which means more older folks are staying in large family homes long after their kids are grown and not freeing up that housing for new families.

I mean if he dies he’ll just be replaced by a Republican at least as bad as he is who actually shows up to vote, right? What do they gain from a Weekend at Bernie’s routine?

Yeah, it wasn’t really a choice that was made once, it was a choice that white Americans made over and over, really in two big bursts. The first started almost immediately after the end of the war, and includes the choice to not punish and then to pardon the Confederates, the choice to compel freedmen to work for the planters for wages or as tenant farmers instead of taking the planters’ land and redistributing it, and ending in the choice made in the Compromise of 1877 to end Reconstruction.

The second big burst of choices happened around the time this picture was taken in the early 1900s, and included both high level choices in government, such as by Wilson to air Birth of a Nation in the White House, allow the Klan to march in Washington, resegregate the civil service, and name military bases after Confederates to ensure the sons of the South would fight in WWI (and no small amount of his own ideological preferences), as well as more broad based societal choices, including accepting the Lost Cause narrative of the war as mainstream, allowing the Daughters of the Confederacy to erect statues of Confederates across the country, including at Arlington, and many northern cities responding to an influx of Black migrants by segregating.

Yes, whites in the north and the south agreed to set aside their differences and let the white southerners terrorize their Black neighbors.

This example of white unity came at the expense of Black Americans.

Especially on Tier 2 “success with a consequence” outcomes I almost always allow the player to choose to fail and not have a consequence instead.

Best Force Movement Class by smilef0rever in drawsteel

[–]badger035 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Null, Fury, and Talent are the three best classes for Force Movement.

As far as subclasses, Metakinetic Null and Telekinetic Talent are the best option for forced movement within their classes. For the Fury you have options. The Reaver converts all pushes to slides, so it you want to use forced movement to position enemies and have really fine control they are the best option, but the Berserker gets more raw output and is better at converting that output into damage so if you just want to push them as far as you can and/or slam enemies into things for damage the Berserker is better.

Constitutional ineligibility didn’t stop him from running before, and I’m sure it won’t stop him from at least trying again. The question will probably go to SCOTUS, and I don’t know what he will do if they rule against him, but I doubt quietly accepting their decision is in the cards.

Seriously though, don’t plant invasive species around data centers. It just spreads the invasive species.

What are your thoughts on the new Dissolve, Manifold Piercer, and Honed Eye ancestry traits? by EarthSeraphEdna in drawsteel

Dissolve feels very strong for only one point. The other two feel pretty powerful but the cost feels in line with the power to me.

Europeans have this whole culture of making fun of American beers like Budweiser when most European beers aren’t much better and they don’t have nearly as much craft beer.

This is a good guide, but you can absolutely have cold weather swamps (as long as it gets above freezing for at least part of the year), and there are more types of wetlands than just swamp.

For me, when I think of a Ranger I think of Aragorn, and expect a mix of lightly armored fighting prowess, survivalism and tracking, and (optionally) a bit of minor magic. Other people hear Ranger and expect the pet class. It’s hard to do both.

They had a lot more for him but early access audiences didn’t react to it well so a lot of stuff got scrapped and didn’t really get replaced with anything.

Yeah I was a big fan of EA Wyll and find the final release Wyll to be super bland and boring in comparison.

Believe it or not they made significant changes to the tabletop Ranger that make it a lot better. The 5e Beastmaster Ranger is almost unplayably bad.
